Trisher 08-11-2014 03:23 PM

So incredibly sad.

CurliQ 08-11-2014 03:42 PM

I'm so bummed about this. He was a fantastic actor.

Kooklabell 08-11-2014 03:44 PM

So very, very sad. God Bless him

sewready 08-11-2014 03:50 PM

What a shame, he was a very talented man. He brought laughter to millions of people, such a shame he couldn't wipe out his own unhappiness. He will be missed.

mandyrose 08-11-2014 03:51 PM

sooooo sad! I liked him very much he sure made me laugh.:(

hamchips88 08-11-2014 03:57 PM

just seen that on news. rip crazy guy. bless the family

nativetexan 08-11-2014 04:15 PM

I just read that. He was such a good actor. Coming into his own. so sad he had such troubles. I wish him peace.

AllyStitches 08-11-2014 05:42 PM

I'm so sad about this-- it just happened too close to home, literally and figuratively. His home was very near where I live, and so he was a "local." I also have many artists in my family and know this struggle too well. And on top of it, my good friend's son died this morning. So I just feel sad. :-(

quiltingcandy 08-11-2014 05:45 PM

Praying that he is now at peace and praying for his family. They must be more than devastated.

lfstamper 08-11-2014 05:47 PM

What a tragic loss for everyone. His family must be devastated.

Mousie 08-11-2014 05:52 PM

he was the guy next door, your bag boy, your waiter, the doctor, Peter Pan,
...he was everybody and you knew him!
I have a hole in my heart :(

so sorry that this has really been an awful day for you. prayers for you, your family
and friends and Robin's family.

AngeliaNR 08-11-2014 06:08 PM

This makes me so sad.

Boston1954 08-11-2014 06:27 PM

It's a pity that some of the funniest people have the saddest lives. They make us laugh when they want to cry. He was just three years older than me.

Doggramma 08-11-2014 06:41 PM

So sad. It just goes to show that a lot of people struggle with their issues, no matter how famous or how much money someone has or doesn't have. He was incredibly talented and he'll be missed.

Sandygirl 08-12-2014 02:52 AM

Lots of sadness in the world. Loved Robin Williams. He made a choice. Others....not so much.

i rec'd a call yesterday from the DH of one of my best friends. She lost her battle with cancer. Was facing her third go round of chemo. (5 year battle ). Puts things in perspectiveve. She was 57. She wont be here to see her only child walk down the aisle. She got engaged as mom lay in a hospital bed. Her friends are also devastated.

Laughter....is a mask at times.

quiltnut4ever 08-12-2014 03:10 AM

What a shock when I found out. Didn't know he was struggling with his own demons. RIP Robin Williams you will be missed.

People make their own choices. I am truly sorry for his family. I know too many people with cancer and other illnesses that are fighting with every ounce of strength that they have to live -- like my husband did. He did not live.
May God have mercy on Robin William's soul.

leatheflea 08-12-2014 03:27 AM

You never know someones struggles. It broke my heart the hear he had been struggling with depression. One would never consider a man that spent his life make others laugh would have a hard time with inner peace.

willowwind 08-12-2014 03:27 AM

So many brilliant people choose to end their own life & struggle with deep depression. Robin was another, he is already greatly missed. He's gone on to other adventures.

lizzy 08-12-2014 04:04 AM

So so sad. He was such a talented actor and comedian.

WMUTeach 08-12-2014 04:08 AM

Nanu, Nanu Captain, My Captain. He has left a legacy of work that is as diverse as his was.

Yooper32 08-12-2014 04:46 AM

The world has an empty spot today. So many in sadness for one who made the world laugh and all the time, inside, he was crying. May he now rest in peace.

Wanabee Quiltin 08-12-2014 05:26 AM

He was an alcoholic, this is not uncommon. Always sad, he will be missed greatly.

kydeb 08-12-2014 05:45 AM

So sad! He was one of my favorites. Money and success doesn't ensure happiness. He will be missed. Bless his family.

Mousie 08-12-2014 05:51 AM

I knew Robin struggled with mental health issues, but naively I thought with his money,
he would have some of the best doctors,...but doctors are not omnipotent.
I didn't know I believed he would never go.
He just seemed so much bigger than life.
Along with prayers for his family, I hope the research for manic depression and
adhd forges ahead and makes great strides, so understanding and acceptance
of those that suffer will grow.

Sewnoma 08-12-2014 05:52 AM

I grew up watching his comedy; he reminded me very very much of my father's best friend. Similar wacky sense of humor, similar appearance, even. Weirdly, similar struggles in life - both passed from suicide.

I'm sorry to see you go, Funny Man.

He was the same age a me, and I understand his struggles for I too have struggled with depression for many years as a result of a bad experience that threw me into PTSD like symptoms and depression. That was 10 years ago. :(

tessagin 08-12-2014 06:02 AM

Sending prayers from the gulf for all those who are fighting those inner demons that just will not leave one alone. Many comments from individuals who called him selfish. Many who take their own lives feel they are such a burden on their family because they see pain in the eyes of their loved ones who actually are just wanting to help relieve them of the burden. RIP Robin Williams and all who have been down that ugly road of depression.

DDuMouchel 08-12-2014 06:21 AM

Sooo sad. I remember when he first appeared in "Mork and Mindy" and being fascinated because I had never seen a comic with such talent before. And who can forget "Good Morning Vietnam" and "Mrs. Doubtfire"? Such incredible talent ... he will be deeply missed.

mrs. fitz 08-12-2014 07:25 AM

Both Robin Williams and his idol, Jonathan Winters, suffered from mental illness and depression. So sad. Both of these comic geniuses will live on thru their work.

Ditto in every respect.

leatheflea 08-12-2014 08:25 AM

I've been watching the news this morning and no one has mentioned that Robin Williams made a movie in the 90's, What Dreams may Come, that was about depression and suicide after the loss of a loved one. It was a box office failure and quite an odd side of Robin. But I wonder if maybe it was a look inside his mind?

Lori S 08-12-2014 08:53 AM

I will treasure the many movies and comedy skits he made and recorded. He was so profoundly talented. He left his mark on all who saw his work.

Realtorlin 08-12-2014 09:15 AM

Robin Williams

We never know what sadness lies behind a smiling face. So so sad that this happened to someone who was loved so much everywhere. He will be missed...sending prayers to his family.

ManiacQuilter2 08-12-2014 12:14 PM

There are other comics who have become successful at acting but I think that for this century, he may be the most talented comedian. Nobody can ever replace his gift for ad-libing especially script lines. I will probably cry and laugh at the same time when I see the next sequel of Night in the Museum. Since everyone calls their phones smart, I call my DUMB DUMB.

May the Genie finally be FREE !!

i am truly hoping I have misinterpreted your message here. Depression is an ILLNESS. The same as cancer. When the brain is not functioning correctly sometimes it is NOT a choice. Please educate yourself before you make these type of statements.
Bless you poor Robin. :(

luce321 08-12-2014 02:37 PM

Robin Williams was a comic genius and was multi-talented. He always made me laugh. My prayers go out to his family at this most difficult time.
