Royal Baby.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have announced they are expecting there first child, Kate has been admitted to hospital with severe morning sickness.

JudyTheSewer 12-03-2012 09:09 AM

Oh! Glad to hear that news. (big smile) Thanks for sharing because I might not have known for a long time.

Tartan 12-03-2012 09:24 AM

I saw the announcement on the news. I hope things go well but it is early days in her pregnancy.

LynnVT 12-03-2012 09:36 AM

OK, now everyone in the UK needs to make a baby quilt. NOT! Just kidding. Glad to hear it, sorry to hear she's having a tough time. One of my DDs had a lot of nausea throughout three pregnancies, so I can sympathise. Fortunately for me, I rarely did.

nygal 12-03-2012 11:09 AM

I a so happy for them. They sure make a beautiful and much in love couple. Diana would be proud!!

maryb119 12-03-2012 05:30 PM

I heard that. I understand how she feels. I had severe "morning sickness" will all of my kids but it was "morning, noon, and night sickness" for me. It lasted until I was about 4 months along.

amandasgramma 12-03-2012 08:42 PM

Oh good!!!! I'm happy for them!

CindyA 12-03-2012 08:51 PM

Poor thing. But what happy news for a sweet young couple. Congrats!

SunlitenSmiles 12-04-2012 05:09 AM

Wonderful News, the baby will have very loving parents, thrilled for the UK.

sweet 12-04-2012 05:32 AM

I was happy to hear this, wish then well!

katesnanna 12-04-2012 06:04 AM

Congratulations Wills & Kate. Wonderful news but I hope the paparazzi give them some peace and let them enjoy it.

ptquilts 12-04-2012 06:07 AM

I am happy for them and their families, but sad thinking of the non-stop "news" coverage we are going to have of every aspect of the pregnancy and birth.

Why don't we just get our own royal family here in the US and be done with it? You know we all want one... LOL

kateyb 12-04-2012 06:09 AM

Happy about the baby. One of my pregnancies had severe morning sickness 24/7so I can sympathize. Hope it ends soon.

Weenween 12-04-2012 06:13 AM

I know how she feels,I did the same thing with my only 26 year old child. Buy the way she still is at home.My Dr. said that when you are sick like that,You are building a strong afterbirth it is actually healthier for your child.I don't see how,but that is what he told me.I wish them the best.

nygal 12-04-2012 06:48 AM

I can't wait to see what her maternity clothes will look like. She is always so stylish. Will be fun to watch. God bless them.

carolynjo 12-04-2012 07:20 AM

I had a friend who had the same type of morning sickness that Kate has and she was sick the entire 9 months. After 2 babies, the doctor told her she was "allergic to being pregnant." She never had any more children.

nativetexan 12-04-2012 08:23 AM

wonderful news! i worry about her though, she doesn't need to lose any more weight, poor thing. I know they are happy though.

DonnaC 12-04-2012 08:38 AM

One of our local newswomen here had the exact same thing as Kate. She was off the air and on bed rest for quite a long time, definitely longer than the initial three months of pregnancy. She eventually was okay, though, and had a nice healthy baby.

I'd like to think this is God's way of protecting poor Kate from the scrutiny for a while, so she can get used to being pregnant and not have to do that with cameras in her face recording every move and every pound. We all know the media isn't going to leave that poor woman alone for a second after this announcement.

I think that's going to be one awfully cute little baby!!

Barbshobbies 12-04-2012 08:43 AM

We have 5 children, I was nauseous for a few weeks with 4 of them, but with 1, I do believe I was sick the morning after, my goodness it was discribed on T.V. this A.M. as having food poisoning while being pregnant, and believe me it was. Never left home with out a towel and garbage can. The only places I went was the Dr. & church. We had to wait 6 weeks before celebration baptisim, but the good news, she was born a day early! And I am close to her and she is really a blessing to the family!

I, too, hope the paparazzi give them some privacy because I have just about had ENOUGH of it already! MANY, MANY women were ( and are) sick with pregnancy, our backs hurt, our feet swelled. She's not the first one to have a child. We don't need to keep hearing about it!!!

nativetexan 12-04-2012 12:31 PM

I just saw an interview with a woman who had this type of sickness from week 12 of her pregnancy to the 30th!!

captlynhall 12-04-2012 07:55 PM

I saw it on Yahoo this morning. I wish them well. I'm just sorry Diana is not alive to see her first grandchild. Don't you know she would have been a doting grandmother.

DJinSC 12-04-2012 08:47 PM

So now if I read it in the Enquirer, I can believe it? All the baby questions have been on the front pages since their wedding.

I thought all pregnancies started out with morning sickness! Maybe being a princess makes it worse than we all thought it was! Sorry, ladies, but she puts her bra on the same as we do! Edie

As long as that baby is healthy, happy and loved, I will be happy. My prayers are with them.

BellaBoo 12-05-2012 06:57 AM

No morning sickness for me but I do remember having horrible heartburn. No meds then but Rolaids! I ate a thousand of those. I did not enjoy being pregnant at all, not one day of it. Love my kids, but not making them. LOL

Completely understand what you're saying, and I hope to goodness that the press DO leave them alone; but this child will be third in line to the throne following a very recent change in the succession laws over here, so potentially a future King or Queen! I'm pleased for them, but don't really need to know more until he or she has been born now :).

TexasGurl 12-05-2012 09:02 AM

Happy news, hope she feels better soon ...
Just hope the baby looks like HER and NOT the Royal's side !! Always thought Andrew was such a handsome young man, he looked much like Diana - but IMHO now he's looking more and more like Charles ... UNfortunately

you know Diana is smiling down on them ...

The news said she has a VERY severe form of morning sickness, she can't keep anything down and could quickly become dehydrated ... it often occurs in 1st pregnancies and also with multiples ... ??

I was lucky, with 2 kids I never had real morning sickness, I felt queasy at times and some foods and smells bothered me but I never really got ill. I felt great once I was past the fatigue and sleepiness of the first 3 mos.

solstice3 12-05-2012 09:35 AM

Congrats to them. Wonder if they have a girl, will they name it Dianna??

loriea 12-05-2012 12:30 PM

I can sympathize with the "morning sickenss" However for me it was like stomach flu for 9 months. I can assure I did not look camera ready at all. I sure hope they leave Kate alone, when she is up to it I am sure she will let the photographers have their fun.

Momma_K 12-05-2012 01:06 PM

:)For ONCE something good in the news to look forward to! That baby is going to be so spoiled!

lynnie 12-05-2012 01:32 PM

I got pregnant on a saturday, monday i started throwing up...about ten times a day ...threw the whole nine months.
made them stop at the sink after 36 hrs of labor four shots of pitocin, had a c section. I KNOW how she feels.
good part, only gained nine pounds. My son was 7-10 oz.

Nell Dwyer 12-05-2012 02:29 PM

I actually have a book of Paper Dolls of William, Diana and Charles, of when William was born. Maybe I'll send them to Kate and William when the baby is born, got them in a art store somewhere a long time ago. I'm also happy for the couple and the U.K.

IrishNY 12-05-2012 05:10 PM

I had four children and varying levels of sickness. One I threw up for 3 straight months and lost 25 pounds, but my babies were all healthy.

My sister-in-law had the same condition as Kate. She couldn't keep anything down from the second month until the day she had the baby. She was hospitalized several times suffering from severe dehydration and nutritional deficiencies. That causes other problems. It was a pregnancy from hell and we are lucky she and the baby are now fine. Please don't minimize Kate's condition - it is a serious and dreadful way to go through a pregnancy.

annee 12-05-2012 05:26 PM

I had the same problem 45 years ago. I needed to be put into the hospital and receive IV's. I was sick for 51/2 months and lost my first baby. They will treat Kate with the best medicine has to offer, plus she will receive the TLC to know she can get through this. And, of course, she has William. He adores her as well as the the rest of the royals. This is a blessing for them all. God bless Kate and William and their very precious baby!

We hoped that the paparazzi had learned their lesson after the Princess Diane tragedy but no chance http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-20649816

I actually live on the Isle of Anglesey where they have their home and we are so tight lipped about them, if the paparazzi gave them hell here we would through them over the Menai Bridge!
