Ok, I bring the cam back up and there they all are in the stall.
Looks like Rusty wants to wrestle with Rumor. He's too little Rusty!! He can wrestle later! Oh...Kay's got the stinky end...hmmm....

He was getting pretty constipated so we gave him the enema. That made him go a bunch but I see on the cam hes acting like he needs to go again ughh. May have to give him a bit more. You can tell when they constantly flag that tail that they are trying to move some manure.

You can also see he still doesnt line himself up correctly when he nurses. By now he should line up along side Flirt but he still goes head in.

He does NOT like going outside but again I think thats due to him being a little premature.

He was sure playing though and zooming around after the enema

And yes I thought Flirt was going to jump thru the door thats why it took 3 of us LOL

I thought all that tail movement was because he was winding himself up!
We were watching and his tail would go a mile a minute, than all of a sudden, he'd be off and pouncing around. lol

Kay, I sure hope he gets to feeling better. Silly boy! He NEEDS to eat, but we all know that. Just hard when it's animals and we really can't make them understand.

I'm off and running around today. Raining and I don't like driving these roads in the rain. They are slick...really slippery!

I so do not want to give him another enema! I cant tell if all this tail flagging is playing or if he needs to go again??

Poor baby!!!!!!!!!!! I logged into the cam just in time to witness him being violated. Sure hope this is the last one he needs. I noticed moma didn't take to kindly to what you were doing to her baby. (I wouldn't either)

Kay, is Rumor eating better yet??? Hoping the little guy gets on track soon!

10 pm/west coast time ... watched baby ... he was nodding off, then suddenly flopped over on his side... back legs stretched out ... motionless for maybe thirty to forty five seconds (I was trying to see his ears), and when I almost grabbed the phone, his mom walked by him and grazed his head with her left front hoof.
Baby popped up like a shot ... GOOD stretch ... followed mom over to by the door and started nursing ... two minutes later ... he is laying down again.

It is now nine minutes later.
He has gone from laying with his legs folded under him, to laying full out on his side. At one point, mom brushed one of his hing feet, and he moved his legs out of her way. I take that to mean, that though he is napping, he is very responsive to mom's movements and life and living going on around him.
He is enjoying laying on his side now and stretching.
I am on my way out to check my cows ... waiting for the next calf... then will check on Rumor and give the next report ... as in -- I think he has his left ear cocked a little differently <g> when I come back in.

The little guy is trying his heart out!
He gets it for a couple secs, lets go then starts up again.
Looks like he's trying to tear that teet off of her. lol
Only tried for about 20 secs.

I got back in at 10:24.
Colt was up moving around.
I didn't see him suckle, but from the amount of harrassment he is unleashing on his mother, I would say he is feeling pretty good.
Mom finally laid down, and Jr is thinking about playing on her back.
He nuzzled to nurse, but she was having none of that foolishness.
He has now been up over fifteen minutes and is nuzzling on mom's back.
I think things are looking very good right now, so I am heading off to bed.
(I almost feel guilty!) ... but, give me five minutes and I will be dreaming good dreams for you <G>.

I had to keep watching for a while longer.
I think you have a jumper there ... he is lining himself up to try to get across mom in a single bound.
We need to find him a JOB! LOL

Well, it looks like my puter froze the cam. I don't see the colt anywhere and Flirt hasn't moved for quite awhile ... so, the last thing I saw was the foal messing around so much that mom got back up and he nursed ...
sorry I missed something ... but, according to my time line, he nursed twice in about thirty five minutes or so.
I spent the last ten minutes trying to get things under control on my puter.
Guess it is time for bed.

He keeps staying on the side where he can't be seen. Shadows LOOK like he's nursing, but not sure.
He's laying down now, can see his head moving.
Will look back at him in about 20 min

Just found the thread - I saw on the cam that he was back in and why! Will watch him for a while with you Terri! Come on Rumour, NURSE lots and grow big and strong, then you can REALLY give everyone the run around!

He's been nursing a little bit, not much on and off every hour. I'd say maybe 3 times an hour. So, I'm thinking he's finally getting the hang of it. Last time I watched him, he seemed a little more lined up with Flirt.

He seems to have trouble latching on and Flirt gets a bit irritated. Don't know if he actually got anything then?

You missed it when he tried to nurse, then turned around and started bucking at Flirt's teets. Looked like he was trying to kick them off her. lol

I've had to switch cam off - Hans is on conference call and I'm interrupting his meeting apparently! No sense of priorities! Let me know if you can't watch anymore and I'll put it back up!

Are you making too much noise so Hans can't concentrate on his call? Maybe run around naked in front of him, I bet that would REALLY interrupt him. lol

Might give his a colleagues a shock - they're on web cam! No apparently me being on the cam link is slowing down/interrupting his internet connection - he's on Skype.

OMG...this colt is tooo funny!
His tail goes and goes and goes, then it stops and of he goes jumping around!
He just got under Flirts neck/chin and started bucking at her. She raised her foot up and pawed at him like she was yelling/spanking him.

Rusty said he fainted on cam a bit ago. I just got up i was sooo tired. Did you guys see him faint? If he faints he just falls over verses bending his legs down and laying down.

We gave him the other half of the enema last night and he was not happy!

I didn't Kay - but then I've had to switch the cam off a while ago - hubby is on a Skpe conference call and I was interfering with his connection. He did seem to nurse for a bit then lay down again. I guess if he faints, he keels over?

I think he doesnt latch on very long but seems like he is nursing. I know hes peeing a ton so he must be getting milk.

He has been so friendly and not spooking etc like a normal colt but last night he seemed to be waking up and started spooking a bit like he should. Im kinda sad to see my lap puppy disappear but its a good sign that hes acting more like a horse.

Yes if he faints he just falls over and is motionless. Normally if hes just laying down he will bend the legs and sink down

Kay - I love watching your horses, it's absolutely NOT a chore! Hans SHOULD be finished in about half an hour, so I can get the cam back up!

Oh I'm sooo mad...I updated to Explorer 8 to solve some other probs I was having and now I can't see the link to Rumor.. :evil:

I've been on a marathon phone call the past couple hours, but have been watching him. Didn't see him faint/fall, but did see everyone in the stall.

I've been watching and timing him when he fell asleep, how long he was down for, then when he would get back up and for about how long he would nurse.

He's flat on his side, is he OK?

He had his little arms tucked around.
He just lifted his head and layed back down. He's probably tired from all the jumping around he was doing earlier at about 4am EST. lol
