It is a sad that we lost the creative talents of Steve Jobs so soon. I have been a fan of Apple since our family bought an Apple 11 in the early 80's and soon moved to the Mac. I am from the Bay Area and have always loved their products.

I sit now reflecting on all the tech devices that Apple has given every day ordinary people. I write now on a MacBook Air, I text on an iPhone. Steve you were a visionary and will be sorely missed.

marymm 10-05-2011 06:20 PM

I agree. He was a creative genius.

Kitsie 10-05-2011 06:28 PM

My first computer was an Apple IIe for about $3200! Without the printer! It was a great tool and really got me into computers.

Thanks, Steve!

Murphy 10-05-2011 06:29 PM

His genius will definitely be missed. He left a great legacy. I, too, am a Macbook user.

jaciqltznok 10-05-2011 06:30 PM

He was a Pioneer for sure! THanks for everything Steve, you will be missed!

Yellow Bird 10-05-2011 06:31 PM

And it was easy, that was his genius. He made it easy for everyone.
Yes, I remember those expensive and quickly outdated days.

We always wanted an Apple but couldn't afford it...
He was a innovated pioneer in communication. He will be missed...

scowlkat 10-05-2011 08:10 PM

I admired what he did and how he wanted to enrich our lives. That said, I hate MACS!

Lisanne 10-05-2011 08:18 PM

Even knowing that he had cancer, pancreatic cancer, which doesn't have a good prognosis, even knowing he'd finally stepped down from Apple (knowing it had to be because his health no longer permitted him to work), it was a shock to find out he died.

I read a biography about him years ago, and he was just such a fascinating person.

I think you called it right when you dubbed him a "creative leader" - that's exactly what he was.

I never met him, but I feel terrible right now, as though I've lost someone I knew.

Michellesews 10-05-2011 08:20 PM

Yes, so very sad, and so young. I cried.

blueangel 10-05-2011 08:44 PM

marscrafter 10-05-2011 10:46 PM

It is really sad that he's gone, he changed how people view technology, and he made it more accessible. (writing this on a macbook too)

watterstide 10-06-2011 03:17 AM

yes, he changed the world and how we communicate.
so young, so talented. will be greatly missed.

peabee 10-06-2011 03:49 AM

so sad he is gone-so young! his legacy of innovation lives on.....

SunlitenSmiles 10-06-2011 04:17 AM

have never owned any apple products but appreciate the great minds and competition that have brought this techno to all of us...............he will be missed R.I.P.Steve

Good Job in life !

P.S. we need to get him on a postage stamp

Jamiestitcher62 10-06-2011 04:36 AM

iSad!

MaryAnnMc 10-06-2011 04:43 AM

When my son moved it, we switched to a Mac (no more in-house geek to fix the constantly misbehaving PC) and I have been amazed at the difference. I love my Macs, will never own a PC again. Love my iPod. But I draw the line at iPhones, I don't use the cell I have.

I wonder what we'll miss without his genius? We'll never know what the next revolution might have been. Apple won't be the same without him.

JoyjoyMarie 10-06-2011 04:49 AM

It is a great loss. Was so sorry to hear. Words fail me.

Stitchnripper 10-06-2011 05:17 AM

Very great loss - to his family - he still has young children, and to the rest of us who benefit from his creative genius. I switched to an iMac and an iPhone - which is really a small computer with a phone added. I get so much pleasure from these things. Thank you Steve Jobs.

quiltymom 10-06-2011 05:37 AM

He will be missed thanks for all Steve!!!

ranbro 10-06-2011 05:43 AM

I absolutely agree that we have lost a great visionary. My partner and I love the Apple products. Between us, we have 2 macbook pros, 1 macbook air, 2 IPods, 2 IPads, and 2 I phones. I send condolences to the family in their hour of grieving.

Becka 10-06-2011 05:51 AM

I got to spend about a 1/2 this a.m. explaining to my kids who he was and what he did. They walked away speechless, staring at their "i"-toys. I hope I didn't ruin their day, but I wanted them to understand his creativity, determination, vision, etc... They are adopted, as was he, so they felt a small level of kinship with him. I hope they're inspired to find and pursue their passions for the love of the passion and not the money or fame it could bring.

Murphy1 10-06-2011 05:54 AM

There is a co written biography about him due out in November that I have ordered. I never met him, but in Silicon Valley he was just such a big part of who the Valley represented in terms of creative leaders. I did me Steve Wozniac at a conference once. Again I think he had such a large influence on how people use technology today. It seemed everything they came out with was copied in so many ways I also admire how he kept his family out of the public and they had a normal life in Woodside.

I you get a chance listen to his granduation speech at Stanford in 2005. It has some very inspiring messages for living life. If your kids aren't too small it might let them see that thinking differently is a good thing.

He was definitely a creative mastermind when it came to computers, my SIL has 2 of them I wish we could afford to own one ourselves. Our world will definitely be different without people like him around. My prayers go out to his family.

Quiltbeagle 10-06-2011 06:26 AM

It's very sad that he died so young. I'm never without my iPod and wonder what kind of technology the future would have brought to us all had he survived? My heart goes out to his family.

Glenda m 10-06-2011 06:48 AM

So sad. We need all the creative thinkers we can get right now.

SunlitenSmiles 10-06-2011 06:49 AM

Ramona Byrd 10-06-2011 06:57 AM

I still have my first computer, that Macintosh 512 that he brought out in the early 1980s, and also still have that big blue half egg Macintosh, both still working. I'm now working on a late Mac, tried that horrid Windows program on a Windows computer but that Vista was a pain where I sit and soon went back to my lovely Macintosh computers.

Rest in peace, Steve Jobs, you made my life much more interesting!!

debby wicke 10-06-2011 07:12 AM

Yes we did lose a creative leader..Steve Jobs. It is a sad day for so many of us and our nation. Keep his family in prayer.

pjnesler 10-06-2011 07:20 AM

His passing has saddened me as well, even though it was probably evident he was not going to be with us much longer due to his failing healty, it is still a shock. What a great creative mind he had. How lucky those that worked under him and felt his desire for life and achievement!

I am curious? Why do you hate MACs? They are so user friendly?

happymrs 10-06-2011 07:43 AM

My DH got notified on his iPad last night. Says it's because he subscribes to MacWorld magazine. We were both shocked, how sad, & what a loss! He will definitely be missed!...
