I have a sport whistle (they are loud) near my phone. Several years ago I got a sick (sexually explicit) call. I lowered my voice and asked him if he wanted to hear something interesting. Of course he listened, lol, I blew that whistle loud and long. Unfortunately he hung up in the middle of my reply. Interestingly enough he called back and complained I hurt his ears. Poor fellow, so I blew that whistle again, never got another call back, geesh just when I was getting the hang of that whistle too. lol

My mom received one of those calls...she asked for my help because she didn't understand about wiring money. It took a lot of persuasion & phone calls to grandkids to help her understand it was a scam. My mom has alzeihmers...it was a cruel mental trick to put her through that so yes - warn your friends & families that it is for real!

If it even was my grandchild calling me for money I would laugh. I don't have any so its easy for me to say sorry. One time someone hacked my email address and sent out an email that I was stuck in Canada with no money. Everyone that knew me just laughed . I never travel. We still joke about it when someone gets a scam email. I guess sometimes being broke and house bound works in ones favor. LOL

Thank you for the information, I dare them to call me & if I answer I would get to say "Gee that's funny I don't have any grandkids".
