Looking at some of the threads, I can't help looking beyond the windows at your beautiful scenery. I see some foothills and mountains and some beautiful lakes and countrysides. It would be interesting to show the beautiful scenery from your front or back door.

Let me see if I can find a pic quickly... I live in the middle of the city, but have done my front yard so that when you sit on the porch you don't feel as of you live on a busy street . I also sew on my front porch during nice weather

Need to take new pics as the flowers are all coming up now

What a tree? I bet that tree could tell us a thing or two through its history. I sure would love to hear its stories. Amazing! ;)

hpylady 05-27-2010 05:26 AM

brushandthimble: You have a lovely, lovely yard and I know you spend alot of time keeping it that way.

marsye: my granddson wanted me to tell you, he likes your avatar and thinks your dogs are so cute!

I am really enjoying looking at everybody's beautiful pictures! My grandson too, we're waiting here for the next pictures to arrive.

brushandthimble 05-27-2010 05:40 AM

hpylady, thank you! We have put in all the beds, there was absolutely nothing when we bought the house.

craftiladi 05-27-2010 06:10 AM

Ohh so pretty are those daylilies & peonies?

craftiladi 05-27-2010 06:14 AM

Love seeing everyones yards. So many of the same plants/flowers I have but so many in bloom already, still waiting on alot of my flowers to pop their pretty lil heads.
I would give anything to see alittle lake/pond out my windows, but sorry I will pass on the gators..lol.

kathy 05-27-2010 06:19 AM

we try to pass on the gators too but they just keep coming, he catches them and moves them up the road about 5 miles but usually within a week there's 2 more here as we have 2 ponds and they usually like to have it to themselves so the smaller ones get pushed out and find the smaller pond in the back, I love all the hostas, I keep trying but they just don't make it. Everyone's place looks so peaceful.

Quilt Mom 05-27-2010 06:27 AM

Thanks for sharing, everyone! Such peaceful settings, and inspiration for quilts!

I have no pics to share. From our front door, I see the street - but don 't dare take a step until the contracter finished the deck!! Other than that, it is rather a hodgepodge of dirt...
Maybe next year.

Here is what we see from our living room window. The view is gorgeous. The plane taking off is an antique warplane which was owned by our neighbor whose house you see with the red roof. This was his last takeoff with it as he sold it.  It is so much fun to sit and watch the planes land and the boats go by. Unfortunately, we don't have many beautiful plants like lots of you because we have a ton of deer around and they eat everything in sight.

Front corner of the yard. If you look to the right, end of the wall, you'll see how an enterprising chipmunk has tunneled alongside the french drain. _:-)_

Here are a few pictures of our landmarks, sorry no beautiful lakes and foothills. I think these were taken back in October of last year, maybe the year before.

Did have pine trees, cut down and added Gazebo.

I live in the woodlands of Washington state.

The view from the sewing room is part of our front yard.

The view from the family room is our back yard and koi pond which we built several years ago.
