Secret Obsession

What is your secret obsession? I have 2. I love Werther's original caramels. I have to force myself not to buy them when I'm near a candy aisle. I also love to play the original Age of Empires. It is addicting and a major time waster.

fruitloop 08-26-2016 08:23 AM

It's Milky Way Midnight bars. They are hard to find which is a good thing for me. I like to play Plants vs.Zombies. When I feel overwhelmed I play it on my computer. It fast paced to get my mind off anything.

NoraB 08-26-2016 08:25 AM

Ice cream drumsticks and anything chocolate! My recent obsession is dark Almond Joy candybars!

I have always said my passion is for sleeping. I love to nap in the middle of the day. And if I could do it in a hammock all the better.

What's really funny is I love to stay up till the wee hours of the morning and get up at 5:30.

I also love to putter around doing anything I see to do. I don't have a schedule to clean on certain days or on routine. Just this morning I cleaned the linen closet, just because.
peace

Thanks Tartan ... will have to get to BB soon!

It's no secret from my family that my addiction is Milky Way Darks. They're my bedtime snack every night.

ManiacQuilter2 08-26-2016 12:00 PM

I love those Ocean Spray chocolate covered cranberries. Betcha can't eat the serving suggestion. I really love playing Spider Solitaire on the computer.

Doggramma 08-26-2016 12:53 PM

Oh dear, I'm addicted to my iPad games. For food, we seem to be in a sugar wafer cookie phase right now, the kind that are white, pink and chocolate. We're both guilty of eating a whole package at one sitting.

Jan in VA 08-26-2016 02:28 PM

Right now I'm addicted to re-reading my Outlander book series by Diana Gabldon and her smaller novels. Can't seem to get enough of these people since learning how much of my DNA pie chart is Scot!
I also play Solitaire on the computer, but not competitively.
Mexican food is my not so secret passion, my family knows but can't really relate as they didn't spend nearly 20 years living in Texas!

Wanabee Quiltin 08-27-2016 04:13 AM

I have to have my cash in one direction in my wallet with the $1 bills first, then the $5 bills etc. My youngest son started me on this weird practice and I can't stop. I also find coins on the ground (because I look for them).

SewingSew 08-27-2016 05:51 AM

Wannabee Quiltin, I remember studying about this in abnormal psychology. It is a common compulsion. About 50% of the population does this. I do it too. Another thing that is not uncommon is to be driving along and not be able to recall parts of your journey. A different version of the same thing is to be reading a book and suddenly realize that you can't recall some of what you just read. I do both of these things too.

deeleigh 08-27-2016 06:56 AM

I have to have a few Starburst Fav Reds Flavor. The grandkids associate them with Meme. I keep them in a milk glass chicken on the bookshelf, aand they like t sneak in and get one or two. Like living dangerously.

tessagin 08-27-2016 05:42 PM

Breyer's Heath Ice Cream and their Snicker's when they don't have the Heath. Have to comment on finding change. My son and his friends used to go the bar parking lots early Saturday and Sunday mornings and pick up change that was dropped. They came home once with almost $25. in change.

Me too!!!!!!!!!!!!!

moonrise 08-27-2016 08:10 PM

My DH works right beside the Moon Pie factory in Chattanooga. He says he can smell them every morning when they start baking them. :D

As for me, I love love love Circus Peanuts. I have to force myself NOT to buy them. I *will* eat the whole bag in an embarrassingly short amount of time. :o I love KitKats and Midnight Milky Ways, too.

As far as non-foods, I gotta have my internet, and lately I've been quite obsessed with Poke mon Go. :p

juliea9967 08-27-2016 11:10 PM

Have any of you tried the dark chocolate covered pretzels? I didn't buy them when I first saw them because I have never liked pretzels - or so I thought. They are addictive to me, and the only place I have found them is at Costco, so they come in a jumbo pack. I don't want to tell you how quickly I can devour that jumbo pack. When I am too tired to do anything that needs to be done, I love to play Bejeweled Twist.

orangeroom 08-28-2016 02:49 AM

It seems that everyone is keeping this 'G' rated. I suppose I can too, although I was intrigued when I read the subject title to this post...

My 'G' rated secret obsessions are; facebook, quilting board, money in increasing increments (all pointed the same way) in my wallet, all coins in my coin purse, always parking backwards in garage (in case I need to make a quick get away)[my dad taught me that-he was a police man...he always said "Oh, I'd take you on a heist any day"], heath klondike frozen bars (I once ate a whole container that I bought from BJ's before the children got home...once you eat 6 of them, how do you explain that to children...so I just ate the other 6 before they got home from school! It was like I never purchased them at all!!!)

ptquilts 08-28-2016 03:25 AM

I used to love circus peanuts but I squeeze the bag in the store and they are always hard (stale). Wonder where the factory is so I can get some fresh??

I pick up change too, I can spot an old penny in a bed of bark mulch.

Karamarie 08-28-2016 04:13 AM

This Board and chocolate.

SewingSew 08-28-2016 04:15 AM

Orangeroom, That was funny about your Klondike bars.

I have an obsession with Concord grapes. Every year about this time I start to look for them in stores. I buy 6 or 8 quarts at a time and I finish them off in record time. Then I go back to the store for more. I've told my husband that I'd rather get Concord grapes than long-stemmed red roses. My grandfather used to get so mad at me when I was a child because he grew Concord gapes to make wine and I would pick the vines clean before he did. My grandmother hated that he made wine, so it used to tickle her to death that I stole his grapes.
