erstan947 05-25-2011 05:28 PM

I have spent the day getting in touch with all my family in Oklahoma. Were we used to live there was hit by one of the tornado's last night. So far all my family are ok:) Such a sad helpless feeling:(

QuiltingNinaSue 05-25-2011 05:29 PM

Guess cousin's adopted daughter was in that trailer court...no word yet. I am praying that she is OK.

Not so with a friend's two brothers and brother-in-law-in OK where a whole town was destroyed. It has affected so many, and so sad. My prayers are with them.

Melinda in Tulsa 05-25-2011 05:39 PM

Glad you are okay Riversong. It was a long, stressful night for us. We had one coming straight for us but then it veered more south/east and hit Haskell instead.

mcdaniel023 05-25-2011 05:39 PM

How sad.

Tink's Mom 05-25-2011 05:54 PM

Glad you are OK, Riversong...please keep us informed about damages...

sherriequilts 05-25-2011 05:56 PM

Glad you are ok too.
Heart and prayers for all those at the mercy of these horrible tornadoes.

TootieAnn 05-25-2011 06:09 PM

I'm glad you're okay, Riversong. Thanks for posting. I am praying for the people of MO and OK. I would like to do more than just pray ( although that is important). Please let us know how we can help. I know things are chaotic there right now, but as you can, let us know. And again thanks for posting.

redbugsullivan 05-25-2011 06:11 PM

God be with all those in destruction's way. Thanks for posting. Our prayers are with everyone. I'm sure counting my blessings!

Riversong it is so great to hear you are okay. My Son and DIL live here and are located just 7 blocks from the start of the damage. I praise God they are okay! and that my Son was not scheduled to work at walmart 15th st. that Sunday.

they are in need of personal hygiene for all, babies items such as diapers, bottles, wipes. www.koamtv.com (cbs station) is doing very well at advising all the recent immediate needs as they occur. the other stations are kode (abc)and ksnf (nbc). Tide of Hope is to be here tomorrow to help with laundering what they found still useful.

My thoughts and prayers to all! We have been under a tornado watch most of the day in the Chicago-land area. Very stormy, thunder, lighting and lots of rain...boy what a storm, stay safe everyone!

sammygirlqt 05-25-2011 07:15 PM

Happy to hear you are okay Riversong, but it must have been a hair raising night. Prayers to those still waiting to hear about loved ones.

blueangel 05-25-2011 07:53 PM

Gladd you are alright. There was so much destruction. This has been a terrible year for storms.

ajonkarl 05-25-2011 09:16 PM

When I was little my grandparents lived in LaMonte Mo and we went to visit every summer. Has there been damage there? Anyone know? 50 years ago I am sure nothing like I remember.

Radiana 05-25-2011 09:19 PM

So glad it passed you by. Prayers to all the people that have been victims.

Darlene loves Chocolates 05-25-2011 09:29 PM

my heart is so sad....

this is so sad.....

so much heart pain.

montanajan 05-25-2011 09:38 PM

So glad you are safe. Our weather across the nation has been a bucket of extremes this year - from extremely high snowpack to avalanches to flooding to tornadoes - I'm praying we do not have a tough fire season as well.

mosquitosewgirl 05-25-2011 09:40 PM

Riversong...so glad you are safe...

luckylindy333 05-25-2011 09:40 PM

Oh, gosh, prayers go out to everyone in Sedalia. My parents used to own a house there- they got hit before...

Kas 05-25-2011 09:41 PM

Oh my! We have some old friends who moved back there almost 9 years ago. I hope they are ok.

smagruder 05-26-2011 03:52 AM

Yes, Riversong, please let us know how you are.

cherrio 05-26-2011 04:12 AM

mother nature has either lost her mind or is reminding us to take better care of her earth before she takes it back!

ssgramma 05-26-2011 04:26 AM

Glad you're OK! These huge storms are so unnerving!!!

Blinkokr 05-26-2011 04:46 AM

Have a Blessed day
Ellen

gemmyfrog 05-26-2011 05:56 AM

OMG, this makes me sick to think about all that devastation! Please be careful!

mahen 05-26-2011 06:21 AM

My husband grew up in Lamonte and his parents and grandparents, uncles and aunts lived there. The tornado went east of Lamonte so no damage there. We live South of Warrensburg and have relatives in Sedalia and have not heard if they are ok yet. So far as I know the tornado was quite a bit south of them. Scarry for those living around the area. Gods blessings on them. June

mahen 05-26-2011 06:23 AM

Glad you are safe. Do you live close to Warsaw? We go to our lake house not far from Warsaw. June

rona thickpenny 05-26-2011 06:26 AM

grannypat7925 05-26-2011 06:47 AM

Glad you are safe. That is getting a little too close for comfort! We have been under some watches and had a small tornado touch down north of our city but so far we just have a little wind and rain.

Dotsie 05-26-2011 06:57 AM

Prayers to those who suffered and lost love ones.

Mamaskeeto 05-26-2011 07:23 AM

It's so sad to watch TV and see all the damage. My Mom lives in Bridgeton MO and a tornado touched down on Good Friday. Her house was safe but the street next to her almost all the houses are gone. I'm glad your safe.

marlene tarzwell 05-26-2011 07:26 AM

Glad you are ok! Prayers go out to all of those that have been effected by these horrific storms. I get a sick feeling every time I watch TV about these. God Bless you all!!

sapdoggie 05-26-2011 08:08 AM

Glad to hear you are ok. My DD, SIL and grandkids live about three miles from the Walmart and Best Western in Sedalia.

They were on the phone with my DH checking on us after the storms here in AR the night before. The sirens went off and she hung up to go to a downstairs apartment with the family. Everyone is ok.

Our other DD and DS live in the Fort Worth area of TX where storms also hit.

PTL for protecting my family :!: :!: :!:

Prayers and hugs to all who have been harmed. May God hold you especially tight as you go through the healing process.

Thank you to all who are helping and praying.

fivepaws 05-26-2011 08:09 AM

For all of you in tornado zones. My prayers are with you. I can not imagine anything more terrifying than watching one of those or even seeing one. Such total devastation. How does one start over?

Doreen 05-26-2011 08:41 AM

It"s really so sad that all of this devastation is happening. It brings tears to my eyes to watch when people find people that they thought they lost. I cannot image the pain and all the emotions that they go thru.

brwn_eyedgirl 05-26-2011 10:30 AM

The damage in Sedalia was horrific. I just moved from Sedalia a couple of years ago but still have a daughter and grandkids there. They are all well and had no damage. I am praying Gods blessings for all who suffered a loss that he will strengthen them and help them as they try to put their lives back together.

Patchworkmarion 05-26-2011 12:04 PM

OMG.Glad you are safe.

maryparrish 05-26-2011 12:11 PM

Praying for the people in Sedalia as the try to get everything back together. So thankful to God there were no deaths. My grandson is a firefigher for the city of Sedalia and was called to work after the tornado hit. Praying for all firefighters and persons in authority for strength to help all in need.
