Sewing Room Elves

Is anyone else having trouble with their sewing room elves? Mine are supposed to clean my sewing room every night so I can start fresh in the morning, but they didn't show up last night. I'm sitting here on the computer hoping they sneak in and clean it while I'm downstairs.;)

QuiltnNan 09-23-2013 06:24 AM

LOL... they're not at my house, either... hope they return soon

mighty 09-23-2013 06:27 AM

How funny now that you mention it I haven't had them around for awhile.

I think I have elves - or is it gremlins - in my house.

But they are DISorganizers!

willferg 09-23-2013 06:41 AM

We just cleaned out my daughter's room before she left for college, but it seems like a fair amount of stuff got moved to my sewing room. :hunf: Plus, my son's birthday is tomorrow, and I have things for him hidden in the sewing room (plenty of places to hide stuff, naturally).

MY elves went on strike about the time I had the surgery and we have yet to resolve their issues.:(

My elf has been working bring me my clothes for the next time I change . It's 4 PM here in UK already got my PJ's . Unfortunately she never cleNs up, washes the dishes . Must try harder with her training. n

Misty's Mom 09-23-2013 07:04 AM

My elves moved to a cooler climate. Couldn't stand the humidity and heat. If you have them, send them back

Phyllis42 09-23-2013 07:40 AM

My sewing room elves joined my kitchen fairy...lost in time.

tessagin 09-23-2013 07:56 AM

I saw mine rubbing his backside against his kennel. Guess he got tired of the lint collection from my sewing room. Ya' s'pose he needs brushing?:/

Chasing Hawk 09-23-2013 08:31 AM

Are they union elves?....LOL

I fired mine because they always put stuff where I couldn't find it.

DogHouseMom 09-23-2013 08:49 AM

Mine are apparently very busy collecting dust from someone else's house and bringing to my house. They are very fond of high places and deposit most of their findings on the blades of my cieling fans.

Elise1 09-23-2013 10:17 AM

I am sure if I am just patient long enough, my elves will return.

Jingle 09-23-2013 10:43 AM

Mine has drug out all my scraps and have yet to put them back or use them up. I think they have also brought in some dust and spread it all over my sewing room. I think they forgot where I live.

lynnie 09-23-2013 11:09 AM

mine went on strike awhile ago. my kitty zoey threatened to eat them if they didn't clean properly, and *poof* the disappeared on me. hope they come back soon, I left them a lot of threads and snippets all over, hoping to con them back.

Rosyhf 09-23-2013 11:21 AM

My elves just misplace stuff so I cant find it.

Inez Ruth 09-23-2013 11:24 AM

A lot of good laughs for a Monday. Thanks and keep them coming!

quiltin-nannie 09-23-2013 12:01 PM

This reminds of a "good fairy" story. Many years ago, I worked as office manager for two physicians. There was a third physician who shared space with us, but not the practice. He had his own office manager. She and I shared an office. I would go to the post office each day and pick up our mail. One day, as I was leaving, I told my buddy that I sure hoped the good fairy came and cleaned off my desk while I was gone. It was one of those old, huge, metal desks. We laughed, I left. When I got back to the office about 15 minutes later, there was not one thing on my desk! Not even a pencil. She had gotten the nurses to come and help her take everything off my desk and move it out of our office! I almost peed myself laughing so hard!! Never again did I wish for the good fairy!

Tartan 09-23-2013 12:23 PM

I don't have fairies that clean, only gremlins that hide things.

ube quilting 09-23-2013 12:27 PM

My house elf is called Russell, My DH. He follows me around picking up everything I set down!
peace

Floralfab 09-23-2013 12:30 PM

My elves havn't been around since early spring. I think they may have gone on strike! Woe is me. I can't find my 3 pair of scissors anymore and my sewing area is a MESS! I'm wondering if, during the night they sneak in there and mess everything up!

KwiltyKahy 09-23-2013 03:23 PM

My mother told me the good fairies were on strike MANY years ago. She expected me to pick up the slack, can you imagine? Evidently when I moved out of her house they didn't even notice because they sure have never found me. If they would come here I can promise them bad working conditions and an unending work load, no benefits and poor compensation. What do you think the odds are of their help any time soon.

momto5 09-23-2013 03:54 PM

Mine ran screaming out of the house when the UPS driver delivered the 2,000th yard of fabric
I ordered this year, I think I heard them scream something about "She's gonna kill us with all the fabric she buys!!!"
And that was bad enough, but they hid all my good stuff on the way out....:)

kydeb 09-23-2013 05:56 PM

My elves have actually started hiding dust and threads behind the legs of the sewing machine! Lazy creatures!

nanacc 09-23-2013 07:54 PM

I agree with bearisgray......I have Gremlins that come in and really make a mess! I am certain I have nothing to do with this disaster!

sandy l 09-24-2013 03:16 AM

Yeah, I've totally given up on trying to get the elves to come back and help. I think it's cause I can't get the gremlins to leave.

sewnsewer2 09-24-2013 04:25 AM

I fired my elves because all they wanted to do was sit around and eat candy canes all day, and they messed up my sewing room!

craftygater 09-24-2013 07:23 AM

I think my cat Zipper has them cornered under my sewing table. He refuses to come out even with the promise of treats.

Stitchit123 09-24-2013 07:26 AM

I think this is when they get their vacations. To get all rested and refreshed before all us last minute quilters scurry to do our Christmas gifts......

cherrio 09-24-2013 08:29 AM

haha, I read this and was looking for the "like" button!

My elves stayed at my old house in Texas. I left them my new address in Oregon. Maybe they are traveling by night? Hope they get here soon. Left a thread trail in the hotels we stayed at during the move.

I hope they arrive soon. They can help finish with the unpacking and hauling boxes of to the recyclers. :)

I need to hire a few to help with the garage cleaning. It's either clean or another vehicle payment for a smaller truck so everything will fit inside....LOL

Joset 09-24-2013 10:00 AM

ha ha i loved reading all your post about elfs. well we are cooler
up here but none of them came to clean. they just hide things and i
have to look and look to find them. hope you all get yours back

busy fingers 09-24-2013 12:14 PM

Well when you find them please sent them Down Under to the Land of Oz -I need quite a few LOL.

IBQUILTIN 09-24-2013 12:25 PM

They were here alright, but all they did was hide some things I thought were in plain sight

Kimkankwilt 09-24-2013 12:31 PM

I just saw my sewing room elf take off with my laundry knome...they're in cahoots and I don't think they're coming back.

tesspug 09-24-2013 01:30 PM

I believe they are all very busy sitting on shelves.

mummyismean 09-24-2013 05:14 PM

Gone missing - need help to set up sewing room after moving!!! Lol

MaryMo 09-24-2013 05:32 PM

I'll add that all the good fairies and elves are hiding out until the good times roll in again. The gremlins are hoping we never find them in their disguise as politicians.

RobertaMarie 09-24-2013 07:54 PM
