I can assure you we are all sweet, delicate ladies- Just not naive, you can't always count on a policeman being right around the corner. Sometimes you have to take responsibility for yourself and your family.

That is for sure. If ever any doubt to this research... Denise Amber Lee. A truly sad story and the reason why you need to take responsibility for yourself.

Not a story for the squeamish.

Heart wrenching, this is why my father made sure I knew how to defend myself unarmed. Thank you for sharing the story.

I don't like guns around. My husband (an ex-marine) always says that if you carry a gun then you'd better be prepared to use it. I'd probably shoot myself in the foot or carry it around like Barney Fife did with the one bullet in my pocket.

That is why we have to defend ourselves. The police have different policies for aductions and classified missing persons.

She did not really have an opportunity for hand to hand combat.

Her first and only opportunity was in the very beginning. His choices to her were, come with me or I will hurt your babies. She put both of her toddler sons in one crib and left with King.

She did what she knew was right for her babies. Hopefully her sons will know how wonderful she was.

Seems so.... her husband was quoted after the trial and sentencing of the POS (Pile of Scum, as to not offend) as saying that because of her "quick thinking that her boys will know what a stong and amazing woman she was"

The one fellow with a gun in the crowd in Tucson, admittedly very nearly shot a good guy.
