She is just as good. She is a gift from my husband.

My husband and I are going to be getting our CCW permit in about two weeks. I already had a 9mm (my husband gets her bigger counterpart), but this one is a bit smaller and I can carry it and it won't feel like I am lugging around a ships anchor.....lol

Nice! I got mine years ago.

Millstream Mom 01-12-2011 04:08 PM

I have a sweet little 12g shotgun that I won at a Wild-Turkey Federation dinner! It comes in great for shooting popper shells when we train our retrievers.... not nearly as portable as yours though!

Ramona Byrd 01-12-2011 04:12 PM

I've been thinking of doing this myself, since I'm always driving by myself. I was thinking of a Glock like the one my DIL carried when undercover with the PD, she says it fits her hand lots better than a 38. Also thinking of a Police Special for living under my pillow..cop son and brother both said they'd arrested men where the woman said she just woke up and there was a man standing over her bed....

Awesome new toy!!! Congrats!!!

twospoiledhuskies 01-12-2011 04:14 PM

Nice Gun. I have a 380 and have had my CCW about 5 months. There are so many people getting guns here it took almost 90 days to process my application.
I'm a avid hiker and take it when I hike alone.

We spend a lot of time walking in the woods. You never know who is lurking about out there.

GULP - I bought a 380 over a year ago and haven't shot it once - I don't even know how to load it! All I have is a box of practice shells (have no idea what the difference is) - one of these days.............

Lady-T 01-12-2011 04:26 PM

Nice!
Just got my CCW last week!

I plan on putting at least 200 rounds through a few targets soon.
One day we hope to own some property where we can have our own private shooting range.

KathyAire 01-12-2011 04:53 PM

Nice weapon. I got my license in '95 or 96' when the law was passed to legally carry. Before that, I carried a 38 special in my glove box even though it was illegal.

leahbug 01-12-2011 05:20 PM

A very nice piece you have there. I was carrying a S&W 38 and boy was it heavy I now have a Ruger 38 Special it is so lightweight. I have had my permit for a couple of years now.

thimblebug6000 01-12-2011 05:43 PM

txstitcher 01-12-2011 06:19 PM

Love it! Congratulations!

np3 01-12-2011 06:24 PM

I'd be afraid that I would shoot myself, or someone I loved by accident.

MrsMoe4487 01-12-2011 06:41 PM

Nice. I was thinking about taking the permit to carry classes too. My husband already has his. Plus we are both avid hunters and we both have rifles and shotguns. I feel safer knowing that my hubby has it when we' re up at our cabin though.

amandasgramma 01-12-2011 06:45 PM

Good for you -- I've been talking about getting one, too. First, I want to learn to use the rifles......so if that bear comes around again...............

joan_quilts 01-12-2011 06:49 PM

I have a 38 and feel very comfortable with it. I got my permit to carry liscense about 5 years ago. My dh is a truck driver and I like the fact that I can defend myself.

I live in the country and have had to shoot a rabid skunk and a snake. I know how to use a gun and pray I never ever have to use it on a person, but, in this day and age, you just never know.

It would take the police 30 minutes to show up here, and I feel safer with my gun. My shed got broken into about 3 years ago and that really scared me because I was home. Who is to say next time it wouldn't be my house?

This new gun has a safety trigger. It won't accidentally discharge in my purse. My finger has to be on the trigger to get it to fire.

When I was a teenager, driving back and forth to school. I kept a logging chain right where I could reach as I got out of the car. Every time I got pulled over the sheriff would ask for my chain and take it away.....LOL
And I would have to stop at the hardware store and get a new one......

scowlkat 01-12-2011 07:50 PM

What a beauty. I have a Taurus 38.

Kas 01-12-2011 11:02 PM

I want a pink one! But the pink they make them with now is just too darn peptobismol looking.

mmonohon 01-12-2011 11:06 PM

Nice.

Hosta 01-12-2011 11:40 PM

I have never touched a gun in my life I don't know how you do it scares me completely

Gramof6 01-13-2011 02:25 AM

I am alone a great deal of the time & my DH really wants me to get a license to carry. I am afraid of guns though. If the house was broken into I would probably panic. He has had his license since they first came out with it. I know I probably should get one. Good luck with your new piece!

Sue Fors 01-13-2011 04:48 AM

I think it's awesome that you take the responsability of your own protection.

I have taught personal protection classes for NRA for women. I have a KY state police revolver in my home and carry a 38 in my Jeep with me.
I travel alone a lot and am prepared to use it if need be. I think things would be better for us if someone knew that if they attacked us, they would be shot, just sayin'
Like they always told us: I would rather be tried by 12 than carried by 6.

Gomeyer 01-13-2011 06:39 AM

hope you don't ever have to shoot anyone

Sewlmatesister 01-13-2011 07:19 AM

Pretty, but hard to beat my Colt 1911-A1!!!

Valerie Scherr 01-13-2011 07:39 AM

It is very sad that we think guns are a nice toy I am so very glad that I live in Canada...

MrsM 01-13-2011 07:41 AM

This seems so wrong to me.

If you don't know how to use it don't carry it. Find a gun range and instructor and learn how. There are many people killed by their own gun because they didn't know how to properly handle it.

I have a 9MM Glock and I used to carry it all it time until we moved from Orlando to NC. Not as much crime where we are now.

I have quite a bit of training. My first instructor was a Dallas Police officer. Crime isn't so bad here, but out in the woods you never know who one will run into. Hidden meth labs, pot fields etc.... Better to be safe than be Bear food.

sall 01-13-2011 08:48 AM

Here in Uk, we would be locked away if found carrying a gun. You can a have a license for sport shooting, but cannot carry a gun for protection. I must admit I have two heavy wooden batons, one downstairs and one beside my bed. They would even be stated as offensive weapons.

I don't refer to my guns as toys. I realize weapons are not everyone's cup of tea. But I would rather be armed than be a outline on the ground.

My father taught me the Military's version of hand to hand combat. My older brother's made sure I carried something in my car when I was a teen.

And as an adult when I was assaulted by three rather large women, I started to carry a gun.

cafegold2 01-13-2011 09:55 AM

Sorry all of you gun carriers...After the deaths in Tucson last week I am becoming more anti easy gun purchase and use.

nwm50 01-13-2011 10:01 AM

Oooooo, like that 9 mm, it sure punch though! I got one about 6 mos ago and have taken the safety class too... Take it out to the farm for practice and after 6 shots, im done and ear is ringing....lol

The 9MM Glock doesn't have as much kick as some others. That's why I got it. I had a 32 revolver that the gun shop guy talked me into and I hated it. It had too much kick and rolled in my hand.
