Walking amongst the tall Redwood trees in the total silence.
Having my cat curled up asleep on my lap. |
Smelling lilacs in the Spring, and when someone in the neighborhood has their fireplace burning real wood, or the smell of someone barbecueing. An afternoon nap with a slight breeze blowing in the window with sunshine. Sitting in the boat with my line in the water, and my dog with me. You wanted just one??? I guess this is called "retirement" when you can finally notice all these things that went by me.

Smelling the first flowers of spring....and having all 5 doggie faces greet me in the bedroom window as I pull in the driveway! (not a smell, but definitely a "favorite thing")

I hope this doesn't bring everyone down.
Simple pleasure? Being an American. After reading the current Nation Geogaphic mag. about how 5,8,9+ year old girls are married off to 25,30 or even 50 year old men. Having babies at 12 or 13. Being a slave to your husband. Quilting simple pleasure? Having the spare time and money to make a quilt, just for the pleasure of it. |
Seeing the first tomato ripen.
Finding something new on the board that inspires me. |
WHEN MY GRANDCHILDREN SAY "Grandma Judy I love you"
|
1. Finding that DH left me hot coffee when he left for work.
2. The days that DH works, so I can have the whole day with just me, the critters, and fabric. Heaven. |
sitting on our deck and watching the deer,
playing with my 2 dogs and cat, |
Watching and listening to the chirping of a pair of black PHoebes and the babies they are raising in a nest just outside the window of my quilting room.
Communing and exchanging love with my kitty children |
Waking up in the morning to a brand new day.
Getting that "Aha" moment while looking at the blocks on the design wall......... |
