it is averaging about 8 degrees at night. I am sick of winter. The snow plow just plowed a strip in our neighborhood so it is a one lane road. I wish it would warm up and melt. Blah

bob1414 01-15-2011 08:19 AM

It's up to about 60 now at 1:50 p.m. After two nights in the low 20's, last night was a lot better at 34. It is supposed to warm up some for a few days. Yea!!!!

lillybeck 01-15-2011 10:59 AM

It has been in the low 20's here in North Florida for the past couple of weeks every night and morning. I was in NC over Christmas and it was just as cold here as there. It warms up to in the 50's during the day.

Dae Kuczma 01-15-2011 11:46 AM

Hi, I live on the Eastern Shore of Maryland and it has been cold here too but not nearly as you have had. Our lowest runs around 20s but the humidity is what makes it worse. Goes right through everyone. And yes, I agree, a sewing room is the best place to be! Stay warm!!!! Remember, spring is right around the corner!

Carron 01-15-2011 11:52 AM

11:52 am not too bad 82 degrees.

Dae Kuczma 01-15-2011 12:00 PM

Ditter-
I'll be sure to tell DH about your temps. He is researching your area for our possible retirement sometime down the road. He found a nice quilt shop for me to check out when we come down this spring for a minivacation.

Katz13203 01-15-2011 05:27 PM

It's in the 40's here in MD. Beautiful day outside!

bonniebusybee 01-15-2011 05:50 PM

Last Sunday when I left for church, about 8:45 a.m., it was -8°. We had a spell of 15 days that ended two days ago, when the temperature did not go above freezing.

It's been a strange weather year, and I really sympathize with all of you who are not accustomed to the cold. Hang on! Spring's a'comin'!

gaby4v 01-15-2011 06:32 PM

Wow, 36" that is a lot!! and no we would not like it.

We got a big dump last weekend, 36cm then this week we are in a deep freeze -25 C with wind chill it's like -35C. And starting this morning it has been snowing all day and expecting it to continue until Monday evening. The snow plows have finally got around to doing the residential streets so a bit easier to drive in the neighbourhood. However the windrows are so high you can't see over them and they take up a whole lane that where we have a four lane road it is now a two lane road. Hope the city begins to remove the plowed snow soon. Tuesday it's suppose to be up to -8C WooHoo!!. Looking forward to the new week. Stay warm everyone.

Jim's Gem 01-15-2011 09:52 PM

It was a gorgeous 84 out today. Got a little too warm here in the house.

We have the Santa Ana's blowing so it is very dry.

akgranny 01-15-2011 10:06 PM

blowing cold here in beautiful downtown seward, alaska. 5 above, with no snow on the ground, only a thin layer of ice. BUT, we've had a good long stretch of gorgeous sunny days!

Hi, Gaby! I lived in Japan in 1956-57, and remember reading about a village in northern Honshu (it may have been Hokkaido) where they made tunnels throughout the village in the wintertime so they could move about. 3 feet of snow in one week? Sounds like you live there!

Yes, we are living in Misawa, which is on the northern part on Honshu, for about two more years. I absolutely love the snow, the more the better!!!

Annz 01-15-2011 10:47 PM

not as cold as Canada.

Joanne 01-16-2011 06:16 AM

Update, Sun AM, it was 29 when I got up today!! A warm up!

Crabby Patty 01-16-2011 10:17 AM

It is currently 17 degrees here in NE Missouri. Too darn cold for this old woman. Everybody repeat after me: Think Spring, Think Spring, Think Spring...

bakermom 01-16-2011 02:15 PM

The high today was 16. Even the dog looks at me like I'm crazy when i try to get her to go out..unless i'm willing to throw snowballs for her.
Umm, no. snow won't pack and mom gets too cold!

Exactly the same in Seattle, flood time!

Judith 01-16-2011 07:42 PM

We live in Manitoba. It was -29 here the other day, and I don't even want to know what the wind chill was! Our daughter also lives in Edmonton and we often phone back and forth just to compare the weather situation. You don't HAVE to be crazy to live here but it sure helps! We have to get our bragging rights somewhere eh?

Treasureit 01-16-2011 07:44 PM

kwiltkrazy 01-16-2011 07:58 PM

We can send the cold your way, we wouldn't mind the warming up to -7, but no warmer at this time of year, having the weather fluctuating from the minus to the plus side makes just a mess of the roads, (very slushy).

Min. 20 today and heavy snowing still going on. Snow is to stop tomorrow afternoon.

rahaube 02-10-2011 01:59 PM

It was in the single digits early this morning with wind chills of -15. It actually got into the upper teens this afternoon and was sunny. They are calling for it to warm up soon. It caqn't be too soon for me.
