WINGS!!! OK...today DH & I were mowing and we do it together but on 2 separate tractors. We try to stay kinda across the field from each other so nothing gets thrown...you know, safety first. Anyway..what do we do??? When we get fairly close we wave wildly at each other and make funny gestures..(no...not the bad ones... )...well..today as I was waving away with both arms, I noticed that the bottom part of my arms were waving wildly...but in opposite directions from my hands! Of course...at first this caused me great distress!!!

Then I thought...awww...whew...its only the beginning of my wings! Don't you think thats right????

amma 05-27-2009 07:12 PM

   Don't you just hate it when that happens???   Out here we call them "chicken wings" and yes, my grands love to point them out to me

tlrnhi 05-27-2009 07:18 PM

I don't even like to think about them! lol

beachlady 05-27-2009 07:27 PM

Oh dear Patti! Did you start to fly?

Shemjo 05-27-2009 07:42 PM

I've started noticing them on me, not pretty! :?

amma 05-27-2009 08:02 PM

I decided not to complain about mine yet....When I am done waving to my family and the "wings" stop at the end of their driveways....that is not toooo bad   but if they keep waving alllllll the way home to my driveway........

Mplsgirl 05-27-2009 09:40 PM

What a story to read at 5:20 AM--

Sandpat--you're in perfect shape... unless you become a woman power lifter--it's must supposed to be like that.

Oh goodness..... you are a riot!
**********
Oh my--now I'm reading the rest of your responses... you ladies are the best comedians.

I'm going to giggle all through chores....

reneebobby 05-28-2009 02:05 AM

I had to look close but not there 100%

Knot Sew 05-28-2009 03:57 AM

Why are we compared to chickens....I have a chicken neck..I avert my eyes...cluck cluck

PrettyKitty 05-28-2009 04:26 AM

We call them Bingo wings in the UK. Something to do with the more 'mature' female contingent that like to play Bingo all day.  :?:

sandpat 05-28-2009 04:35 AM

You girls are terrible....I was thinking that as you get older....we all turn into Angels...so this is the beginning right????? I like that thought much better than the chicken thing..I sure don't want to flap/fly off my tractor!

Ninie..I do have the "Pageant wave" perfected...I did that last year when DH was recovering and couldn't get out of bed...He could see out the window though, so I would drive each tractor up and down the driveway (a John Deere parade) and wave at him. He missed the tractors...of course...it wasn't me he wanted to see

Bevanger 05-28-2009 04:53 AM

i think your an angel with wings. yup. sounds good to me :D

sewjoyce 05-28-2009 04:58 AM

Yep -- angel wings!! (That's what I call mine anyway  )

kwhite 05-28-2009 07:08 AM

No no ladies you have that all wrong. Trust me I know. Those flappy things under your arms are in preparation for hot flashes. when you get one you raise your arm high in the air and it waddles back and forth to fan cool air into your face. Works welll. Just you wait and see.

The things we do for our men and their tractors! I follow DH up and down the road in his old beat up truck, so he can move it from 1 farm to another, the tractor is an old 1954 red ford and it is his pride! We will never get the money back that he spends keeping it going!

Already been there and done that and I'm just now getting the "wings" -- so does that mean that I'm an angel

MadQuilter 05-28-2009 01:58 PM

Just wait when the waddle joins in.

Good grief, just how nimble are you????? lol I just tried that and my shoulders won't go the distance. Flaps are willing though.

Moonpi 05-28-2009 03:05 PM

And then K's and Moonpi's responses...I have tears rolling down my face and I have to cover my mouth to keep from howling with laughter!!!

So glad I mentioned this subject, sure made me feel better about them..seems there are lots of uses for them! I don't think I'll share the entire thread with DH though

My husband told me that, too. Some things are more important than others. He also said "I never thought I'd be sleeping with a grandmother."

barnbum 05-28-2009 06:10 PM

I'm coming back here whenever I need a giggle. This is a classic.

I bookmarked it.

kwhite 05-28-2009 06:19 PM

My daughter is totally grossed out. This is GREAT!!!!!! She tried flapping, but she is not getting wings yet.

littlehud 05-28-2009 06:31 PM

I feel better about my wings. Thanks ladies. What a riot.

  Good one, Moonpi!  But I think it work better if they were perky :-o not competing with the wings.

JoanneS 05-28-2009 07:09 PM

I think I'll have to start wearing LONGER short-sleeved shirts.
Maybe a little longer.
I guess I'll have to stop wearing short sleeved shirts.
Flash my ta tas? - first I have to haul them up from my waist!

Marcia 05-28-2009 07:15 PM

I really have to stop drinking a beverage when I am on the board---I have to clean my keyboard constantly!

You ladies are an absolute riot.

Here is an easy fix for wings--pick your grandchildren up several times a day for a good hug. That will be your weight-lifting exercise and you won't even notice you are working out.

Now, for the saggy tatas--------------hmmmmm---------I got nothin'.

Ninnie 05-28-2009 09:33 PM

Joanne, my daughter sent this to me and you made me remember it!

It certainly applies to me

tlrnhi 05-29-2009 04:20 AM

Ok, for those of us that don't have grandbabies, can we borrow some of yours? lol
Well, I do have Big Boy, but picking him up will throw your back out.

Oh, that cartoon is TOO funny!
I'll make sure when I'm sunbathing on my 3d floor balcony, I keep my top on lol

Ninnie 05-29-2009 11:39 AM

by guys, be back in a few days! I am waving my angel wings at you! :D :D

I think it was Jeff Foxworthy who said that there is only two things a guy is thinking: bring me a beer and show me something naked. The shape of the latter is apparently not such a big deal. In other words, even an arm-flapping tata-snakin' nekked granny is preferrable to nothing nekked. lol
