Some things that make my day happy!
A good haircut!
Having store coupons and manufacturer coupons for something I want. The thread runs out at the end of the seam! There was "just enough" fabric to get that last piece cut from. The iron still works after falling off the ironing board. My sister sends home cut flowers. How about some of your "simple pleasures"? |
There is NEVER just enough fabric. I am always running short of fabric and having to come up with a Plan B, C ,D..... Have told my best friend that he should put THAT on my tombstone. :)
|
A day off from work and a clean house so I can sew!
Hubby coming home from working out of town. Dinner I didn't have to cook. |
A purring cat snuggled in my lap, (as she is now).
Hearing the birds sing. That first cup of coffee in the morning when the rest of the house is asleep. The smell of fresh cut grass. A beautiful sunset. |
I'll go along with
"Dinner I didn't have to cook" My little dog snuggling next to me at night. A cool spell in the middle of our summer (100 and plus from about June to Sept) Not having to rip any seams in a project |
I'll take what everyone else has with the exception of the pets on my lap or in my bed and 4 fun size packs of M&M peanuts. It gets hot here also.
|
My son coming over to say "hi".
the engine turns over in the car. My husband walking in the front door at night. My kitty sleeping with me and being a nurse when I don't feel good. an e-mail from my cousin telling me about her day. |
My two year old grandson telling me I'm his best friend.
Baking a delicious pie. Walking into my sewing room with my dog following me and sleeping while I sew. DH sitting in his chair doing his crossword puzzle each night. |
Ditto the sleeping sewing room dog. I got her to be my companion, even if sleeping.
Listening to a 2 or 3 year old giggle for no reason. Doesn't even have to be mine. Listening to an oriole or a bluebird sing. |
An answered prayer...
A project going together without having to rip more than once... My son getting his school work done and his chores without a fight... |
Quiet...blessed quiet. :)
|
Sitting in the backyard on my swing watching the birds
|
Knowing God is always with me.
Being with my husband. Seeing my son and daughter in law. Having snuggles with my doggie babies. Enjoying my flowers. Listening to the birds. Admiring the freshly cut grass. A slow, warm, rainy day. Chatting on here with good folks, and admiring their creations. |
Feeling my dogs curled up, asleep and touching some part of me. A playful kitten. Working on a quilt.
going out and buying more fabric. listening and watching the birds, nesting and later feeding their young ones. Watching a flower bloom. |
Curled up in the big chair with a good murder/detective story.
A summer day with low humidity. Listening to great "Big Band" music from the 30's and 40's. First cup of coffee. |
DH getting up first and feeding the cats and putting on the coffee--without being asked.
SUNSHINE--especially in Nov. and Dec. I suffer from SAD. The sun makes me happy. Finding a shirt that doesn't need de-hairing before wearing. Love the little buggers but they sure do shed. My littlest DGD's voice on the phone saying "Hi Nana! When are you coming ovair?" Yes she has an 'accent'. My oldest DGD running towards me from her school bus and giving me the biggest hug! Looking out over the yard and deciding it doesn't need cutting--today. Trying out a pattern I designed and finding that it really does work! |
My dogs who follow me every where, sunshine after rainy days, fabric stores, just being alive[!am a cancer survivor] Diane C

|
watching and listening to our son lead worship and knowing his wonderful wife
|
A rainbow stretching over the end of our property.
My faith in God. A call from my son. My husband helping in the house. My cat who follows me all day. Having a home and enough food and water each day. The friends on QB that I've never met. Sunny days, bluebirds...the list could go on. |

Bible Studies
Calls from my children and friends shopping for material !! finding great quotes - which I love Simple pleasures become lifes treasures A little praise pays in many ways If it weren't for the last minute nothing would get done. When your Dreams turn to dust - vaccum I'd give up chocolate - but I'm no quitter I started out with nothing, and I still have most of it Of course I don't look busy... I did it right the first time I may not be rich and famous but I do have priceless grandchildren. I could go on and on but you get the idea. |
Getting a hugs and kisses from my granddaughter - because hugs and kisses go together.
Hearing "you're the bestest grandma EVER!" Sitting on the front porch and seeing all my beautiful flowers in bloom. Reading a good book. Being pleasantly surprised at the checkout. You know, when you think you've spent lots of money and it's less than what you thought. |
My Husband letting me sleep in on the weekends.
My Husband cooking me breakfast on the weekends and days off. Bringing silverware and food to me at the table. Ever since I was about 6-7 To hear a plane on a sunny day brings me such happiness and a real peaceful feeling. It gives me a feeling that all is okay with the world. This has been since the around 1950 - 1952. Commercial airplanes were not that many. Of course I love hearing the birds, watching snow fall, looking at my blooming floers, bushes and trees. Starting a new quilt. Too many to put on here. |
A spontaneous hug from teenaged granddaughter
Quilting time Smell of fresh mown grass Blackhawks winning 6th game moving on to game 7--GO HAWKS Enough money to pay bills every month My health My wonderful daughters helping me Getting all the weeds pulled in my garden |
Waking after the *best* dream with a smile on my face--it was all about a great haircut, haha! :D
Waking up to bright shining sun when the weather report had said thunderstorms all day.:) An unexpected offer to help move comes by phone call. Finding one last frozen burger pattie in the 'frig when I was SO hungry for a hamburger for lunch. Realizing I've turned a corner in recovery from back surgery and now have the energy to seriously get into packing up the cottage. And this was just today!! Jan in VA |

Finding dusty cat prints on my van. Lol! Being out in public and someone pulling a "fur puff" from my dog, off my back. Lol! Hearing DH snore (means he is breathing). Discovering that corrective shoes could fix the problems I have walking. Having my DD, who spent her teen years on "self distruct" graduating from college with her Bachelors degree (in criminal justice?!) this Saturday. Going for a drive to see what is around the next curve. Having a hot cup of coffee first thing in the morning. Having warm, purring foot warmers at night. Coming here to visit with all of you. Reconnecting with all my cousins on social media. Finding a cousin we did not know we had lost. I guess I am just silly happy alot! Lol!

What wonderful blessings y'all have posted! I enjoyed reading them this morning. Mine would be
A quiet house before everyone else has woken up, Sunshine beaming through the glass in the front door like Christ was on the outside waiting to come in, The little squirrel that peers thru the window as if to say, Hey, wheres the birdseed? Enjoying a finished project knowing that I am free to start a new one. It's all happened within the last 20 minutes. I feel lucky and blessed. |
Waking up to another new day God has given me in this life.
My view of the ever-changing view of Pike's Peak out my kitchen window. The birds that come to our feeders. A new day of sewing and quilting adventure. |
My view of the ever-changing view of Pike's Peak out my kitchen window.
Lucky!!!! I love Pike's Peak! Just gotta watch out for those Saskwatch crossings. We used to go to the Pikes Peak Hockey tournament in Colorado Springs and were fortunate enough to have time to visit the region....loved it. |
Good stuff!
The smell of lilacs - The smell of lilies of the valley - Being able to smell - (my sister lost her sense of smell due to a physical condition) Dirty dishes - not actually doing them - but what they can represent - food, a place to eat, etc kids jumping and screaming - means they CAN! |
Being free to worship my God, knowing He is with me at all times. Seeing my DH setting across the room. Hearing the sweet voices of my DGC saying I love you Grandma. Seeing a sunny clear day after a week of twelve inches of rain in the last seven days and thanking God we live in a area that does not flood. Watching and hearing the birds and butterfly's in my yard and smelling the fresh mowed grass. Knowing all my family are well and happy. Looking back over the happy 57 years with my DH and seeing our children grow and become parents to all our wonderful DGC.

I love this thread! I'm thankful for all of the above, and for God answering prayer, whether the answer is yes, or no, or later!
