I don't want destruction, I just want to cool off.

hobo2000 08-10-2010 10:29 AM

So beautiful. You can stay warm in the winter without electricity but in the summer life is cruel when you can't get cool.

quiltstodo 08-10-2010 11:10 AM

I look at these and now I know why my DH moved to Calif. He was born in MN and grew up in PA and NJ.

Pzazz 08-10-2010 12:25 PM

We are in the middle of a major downpour right now. A member was just in and commented that it could be worse...could be snowing!!!

The snow pix are so pretty, but I am not ready to be done with summer yet. :)

We are in the middle of a drought here in Eastern PA. Last year we had 3 days in the 90's. This year we have already had 42 days above 90 - with almost no rain. It was 97 today with 85% humidity.

Thanks..... I think. Can't say I would know what to do with that much snow here in south Louisiana. Last winter we did have record cold and two snowfalls within the same winter. That was a record too even though each snowfall was less than an inch. 8-)

LeeAnn 08-10-2010 02:16 PM

I'm dreaming.....aahhh, it looks so refreshing. Thanks for the wonderful photos.

cjomomma 08-10-2010 04:19 PM

I'm dreaming and wishing. I never complain about the cold or the snow. Iv learned to drive in the snow and ice so I say bring it on and lots of it. I got plenty of quilts and I can always throw a couple more together if needed.

I feel the same way! I am not a big fan of summer! Especially August! Hot and humid is SO not my thing!
I honestly would take a cold January day over a hot August day anytime!

quiltinghere 08-10-2010 04:24 PM

Thank you - I will not complain of the heat anymore - today!
If I think I'll complain about it tomorrow - I'll think of these pictures. ROFL

Those snow scenes always look so nice..for someone who has never seen snow. It only snows in a small part of Australia..and that's not where I live..lol.

sewmuchmore 08-10-2010 06:27 PM

I love the snow when we get some it only stays for a few days. Then all gone

Quilting Di 08-10-2010 06:55 PM

I love winter and snow....not enjoying these hot Indiana days at all.

You can just see what he is thinking..."why am I still out here? Can't I come in?"

The drift behind him was about 4 ft tall, and gradually took over the whole front porch. We managed to shove the door open enough for me to squeeze thru' so I could shovel us out. Buzzy loved that...finally, someone came out to play!!!

I actually miss seeing the first snow, being from West Virginia. I live in Florida now. Just the first snow though! It is so beautiful and fresh!!

cjomomma 08-11-2010 04:33 AM

Pzazz I love your dog. I used to have a Chow/retreiver and I miss him so much. He never was in good health and one day he finally gave up trying to live. He was nine when he died.

CarrieAnne 08-11-2010 04:36 AM

Carrie, thats the only thing I really hate about Winter is driving in it! I live way out in the middle of nowhere, so even running out of milk when its bad out is bad!
LOL, I now have a 4 wheel drive truck, and have learned to get out of ditches if I have to. Oh, yeah, and ALWAYS remember my cell phone, lol!

Pzazz 08-11-2010 04:37 AM

thanks cjomomma. Sorry to hear about you losing your dog. That is never easy. Buzzy was a rescue...on his way to the humane society when we intercepted. He is very big for a Golden...about 110 pounds!!! But such a gentle dog. We have had Goldens for years, (and bred them for a while), and he is by far the most gentle we have had.

I sure do want it to cool down here too but not that much. haha I thought it would help looking at those pic's too but not much. Last winter here was a bear!

reneebobby 08-11-2010 04:50 AM

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO I don't want snow.

As soon as I hear that snow is coming I hit the store and get what I need. Tho WM is only 5 minutes away I could walk if I really needed too or send the 2 oldest onesout on foot. LOL.

wilma A 08-11-2010 07:47 AM

looks colddddddddddddddddddddd

chickadee_42us 08-11-2010 07:58 AM

ah - refreshing. Beautiful but I cannot imagine living with weather like that day in and day out for weeks on end.

It's definitely too hot now, that's for sure, but hopefully in about four weeks we can lose the 100º temps and then in six weeks we can start cooling off here (if we are lucky)! Can't smell fall yet but I can see it coming.

donnajean 08-11-2010 08:39 AM

When you live in the North, they take great care of the roads, & most of us learned to drive in snow. I would rather be cold than sweaty like I am now. I can always put on a sweater or a blanket, but can't take anything more off today.

littlehud 08-11-2010 08:45 AM

As hot as it is I can still wait for a while til winder.

Roberta 08-11-2010 09:03 AM

Some of us will be complaining about scenes like that before too much longer but please, no more heat and humidity. I swear I won't curse winter.

Love the pictures, but I would not like having that for any long period of time. Guess we will just stay hot here in Texas. And believe me it is hot. Has been over 100 for a couple weeks with more predicted. Sizzle. Sizzle.

Sassy913 08-11-2010 02:56 PM

How awesome...I live at 5500 ft in the middle of AZ and believe it or not, we do get snow similar to that. However, ours doesn't last long enough for the lakes to freeze. You live in a gorgeous area!

PATTIESPEARL 08-11-2010 03:22 PM

We didn't have much of the snow last winter, but had a terrible ice storm. We were without electricity for 8 days . So glad that we have electricity now!
