Live in Jacksonville in the winter. Many quilt groups here. and 4 quilt shops. More close. Quilters never are without friends no matter where you are.

I don't travel for the winter -- I like staying home--worked to many years and always had to be someplace -- now it is just nice to stay home. I belong to a guild and go to social/work events every week, out to lunch with friends and spend time with the grandkids. If I were traveling I would have several projects cut out and ready for sewing. Wouldn't like to "make do" for a cutting table. I wouldn't plan on quilting any tops while I was gone -- would save that for home. Enjoy your trip. You will meet lots of new friends.
