Static electricity
Having just washed, dried and ironed my best trousers I put them on. They clung to my legs by static electricity. Anyone know how to remove it from my trousers so they are comfortable and non cling?
|
rub a fabric softener sheet over them or use static cling spray. I hate when that happens!
|
They say you can rub with a fabric softener sheet but I have not tried it.

I live in an area that is very dry. Our humidity average runs about 15%. We live with static. This is what I do:
Put about 1 tsp of fabric softener in a medium to large spray bottle and fill with water. Mix well and spray lightly on the inside of trousers. They will be slightly damp, you can put in dryer for a minute or use hair dryer. If you don't want to do that, you could try to rub a dry softener sheet on the inside of the pants and see if that will do. That works depending on how much humidity is in the air. |
Thank you everyone. I knew someone here would know the answer.

Easy solution is to rub some hand cream or body lotion on your legs, this kills static right away.
|
I used to buy a can of (anti) static spray for that.
|
Thank you fabric softener worked as well as cream on legs.
|
I use fabric softener in the wash and a dryer sheet in the dryer and that pretty much takes care of it for me.

I find that rubbing little hand lotion on hands and then lightly running your hands over it really immediately unstatic it!!
