Gave all my silver to my daughter. Too much work and not used very much.

Saran wrap is what I use ;-)

Silver will not tarnish, too much, if you use it!!!

My mother wrapped her silver/and silverplate utensils in plastic wrap. If air gets to the surface, it tarnishes. Everyday use keeps it "worn" off, so to speak.

...and I like that comment of "Kalamaquilts", we are good enough.
and spend your youth and young adulthood collecting things and then your old age trying to get rid of it. of "athomenow".

Thanks ladies.

i recently replaced all my stainless flatware with silverplate. (ebay and my mom's basement were my good friends!) i had such fond memories of the feel of it in my hands, the "zen" of polishing it, the sound of it when it hit the drawer in the kitchen... i missed it. i found the set my mom used when i was a kid in our kitchen when i was clearing out their house, and that triggered it, i think. everyday use means there's not much beyond a touch-up needed, once in a while. the other silver i store in silverware cases, lined with silver cloth, so, rare touchups needed. i still love the stuff, and enjoy studying the old patterns, and my favorite "moment" is when i toss the forks into the wooden drawer in the kitchen--and the forks "sing". i'm going to try the saran wrap on some of the serving things that are too big for the cases. it might save a little time, next holiday.
