Oh, scary looking! We had 3 tenths today and it did cool it off quite a bit.

virtualbernie 07-22-2011 02:47 PM

Wish it would rain here...got up to 105 and no rain in sight! Beautiful picture!

What does that mean, meteorologically (I made up this word) speaking?

wolfkitty 07-22-2011 03:18 PM

We're waiting for that storm to reach New York! (and cool us off!)

susie0808 07-22-2011 03:19 PM

Waiting for that storm to reach us here in long island too!! So muggy and hot!!!

tomilu 07-22-2011 03:21 PM

Oh my, I'd love a storm now. It's 105 here in KS.

Hi 90's sounds wonderful! It is 106 here at 6pm.

Stitchit123 07-22-2011 03:23 PM

I was on the North side of Toledo when the sky started swirling and the rain came down in buckets for over an hour -it was AWESOME it was 96 and afterwards its only 81 and breezy You can almost hear the corn growing :-) I just love a good rainy storm

quiltingme 07-22-2011 03:24 PM

Lucky you!

sewgull 07-22-2011 03:37 PM

Good to get cooled off. Nice photo.

gypsyquilter 07-22-2011 03:41 PM

that looks like a tornado producing storm!

QUILTNMO 07-22-2011 03:42 PM

we could use a storm was 100 today and heat index of 115

quilter68 07-22-2011 03:44 PM

That is a terrific photo!

clarinet87 07-22-2011 04:13 PM

That's an awesome photo! I love watching storms come in, or when you're standing outside and the first winds from the storm blow in and the temp drops twenty degrees in twenty minutes. So awesome :)

Tink's Mom 07-22-2011 04:21 PM

we got at least an inch of rain today...WooHoo...and it is a bit cooler, still in the 90's at 7 pm...but very HUMID...

Nanamoms 07-22-2011 04:28 PM

We got a nice rain around 5 CT here. Was relatively cooler before and relatively cooler after...relative being in 90s for central MS. But just heard on forecast that it was going to stay in th 90s overnight here so we won't get that overnight cooler temp. I'll take the rain anyway!!

NancyBelly 07-22-2011 04:29 PM

Wow...what a cool storm and an excellent picture! I'm in southwest Ohio near Cincinnati. Where are you located?

did you aim it towards OK/TX/KS???

Celeste 07-22-2011 05:23 PM

That's a beautiful and awe inspiring picture!

suzee 07-22-2011 05:28 PM

Great photos! Wish we could get some rain here. The weatherman says there's a chance we may get a few drops tomorrow night but he lies a lot ;')

Lisanne 07-22-2011 05:40 PM

Great photos. I wish we would have a storm. We had two rumbles of thunder and that was it. It's finally back under 100, though - at 99 degrees. We are supposed to get scattered t-storms tomorrow.

Enchanted Quilter 07-22-2011 05:41 PM

We are on our 22 day 100+ no relief in sight shows next 7 days 103-107 . Boy what we need is rain. Glad you got some rain. Okla is very very dry this year.

Sewfine 07-22-2011 06:24 PM

Very scary looking.

Sewfine 07-22-2011 06:26 PM

Now this is even scarier. Storms make me have anxiety attacks ever since Hurricane Katrina. Doc say it could take years to get over ordeal I went through on my roof. Thankful to be alive.

kbs 07-22-2011 06:29 PM

Oh my, I don't like those hangy things in those clouds.

jdiane318 07-22-2011 06:57 PM

Please, take pics of rain so that I can see what it looks like. We had some pop-up storms this afternoon but they didn't hit us, got close but no gold ring. I can't remember it being so hot here. Our weatherman said that this July was the 6th warmest on record in over 100 years.

Yooper32 07-23-2011 04:18 AM

We got angry clouds coming in late yesterday when the heat index was somewhere over 110 and nothing happened except a bit of wind, which was a pleasant feel, then one huge crack and boom, like right here. I jumped about ten feet, which isn't east at my age. That was it, the storm rolled right on by. It did cool off enough to sleep last night anyhow.

stitchinwitch 07-23-2011 04:31 AM

WOW what a great shot! Send some of that coolness over here, please

nyelphaba 07-23-2011 06:46 AM

We might get severe thunderstorms today. I wonder if what you had is coming to us. Sure could use the rain.

Owllady 07-23-2011 07:01 AM

Send us some of the rain!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

flowerjoy 07-23-2011 07:04 AM

Nice picture and pretty neighborhood.

MIJul 07-23-2011 07:06 AM

Awesome. I love watching storm clouds rolling in. I saw the most magnificent ones while visiting my sister in the plains east of the Rocky Mountains.

You and me both!

jad1044 07-23-2011 07:12 AM

We've had 105 or above for the last 5 days. Yesterday was 106! enough I say!!! give us some relief!!!! I hate winter, but for one day it would be nice for a break from this heat!!!

grannypat7925 07-23-2011 07:34 AM

We didn't get a drop here but supposed to this afternoon. With all this heat the storms can be scary to say the least!

Nan Quilts 07-23-2011 07:43 AM

Wow! Pretty impressive! Glad it cooled you guys off a bit!

dottientx 07-23-2011 08:04 AM

In north central TX we've been in the triple digits for a long time now and still have them ahead of us perhaps for most of the next 2 weeks. Wish we would get a storm like that.
