Found another use for Elmer's glue yesterday! I was wrapping a piece of muslin around an one by two board while making a mounting board for the Roman shade. The original instructions were to use staples. Instead, I decided to use Elmer's glue to attach the muslin along one edge. Then I wrapped the board and folded the other edge. That folded edge was glued on. Then I did use the staples to attach the Velcro over the folded edge. I didn't have to worry about the staples going over another set of staples.

Yet again, I have learned another new thing. Thanks.

Wow, all these great ideas. I made an extra large mug rug for an end table yesterday and I used a glue stick. Seemed to work better for me than the first rug I made. I think I used too much glue on it, but I couldn't use too much with a glue stick.

What I do with the Elmers Glue is pour it into a small bowl and add a small amount of water, the stir well with the brush. It thins it out, and makes it MUCH easier to apply to the surface. Still works great, but I've noticed its not as stiff, so easier to quilt through, too.

Is the CLEAR elmers glue the same as the white and does it make any difference on batting? I haven't tried it yet.

Just be sure to take cover if a heavy rain storm comes along.

Thanks for the hint - having out of town company this weekend and the bed skirt in my spare bedroom has ripped and don't really have the time to completely take the bed apart and sew it - so will just glue it for the time being and nobody will be the wiser!!!
