Well it was predicted for tonight, now they are saying the next 3 nights! Temps in the teens tonight and low twenties the next two nights. The wind started blowing yesterday and has howled since. 35mph winds with higher gusts will make it even worse!

I brought my plants in several days ago when we had our first really cold night. I filled up my bird feeders and am prepared to stay in the next few days!

I have been really busy today. Haven't been on line or done any sewing untill after supper. Time for relaxation! :D

Jim's Gem 12-13-2010 03:06 PM

We had 79 degrees today. But it is supposed to cool off tomorrow and only be 67.

Jabear617 12-13-2010 03:15 PM

Stay warm!

MrsM 12-13-2010 03:28 PM

It's 27 and dropping here. It is also snowing. The roads look slick. I slipped in the snow taking the dogs out. Talked my daughter out of going out and now I am enduring the silent treatment.

brushandthimble 12-13-2010 03:34 PM

The silent treatment is better than worrying yourself sick. She'll get over it.

Edie 12-14-2010 03:50 AM

Good Morning; It is -7* in St. Paul. I think our furnace went out. My hands won't warm up. And I haven't heard it come on. Good Grief, Charlie Brown, that's all we need. And it is going to start snowing again tomorrow and Thursday. We just got out of our second snow emergency in as many days and I have to get out there and shovel out the carriage walk before it becomes solid ice. One good thing, we got our Christmas tree yesterday. It is a beautiful Fraser. Did you know Fraser firs are expensive and getting more and more expensive every year. I told #1 husband it was fine - it is his favorite - because God only knows how many more real trees we can go out in the cold and pick out, load into the car, drag it down in the basement and let it get nice and perky. So we will enjoy the smell, which is wafting its way into the main floor (we only have a basement and a main floor - it isn't even a main floor - it's the only floor!), but it smells so beautiful. Have a good day, keep warm, and I gotta check and see if I have to call and have someone come out because the furnace isn't working. Edie

damaquilts 12-14-2010 05:40 AM

23 and windy in Virginia beach. Staying in and refinishing a dresser.Andy is not getting a walk this morning. But I looked and its only 15 in Fairburn Ga where I just moved from. Both are WAY too cold for me.

stitchinwitch 12-14-2010 06:17 AM

It looks like it is going to be a long cold winter this year - yesterday, in the Ozarks, that wind was blowing HARD, and it hurt the skin with such low temps! We HAVE to leave today to mail things, go to the store and are NOT looking forward to it. Gasoline is 279.9 so we are TRYING to conserve. But the GOOD news - IF the weathermen are right----yeah---right----- that the high is suppose to reach 35. We shall see! - stay warm

Bobbin along 12-14-2010 07:18 AM

Strange weather all over the country, for sure! Here in Colorado--out of the mountains--it is sunny and in the 60's for the next few days! The mountains, of course, are buried in feet of fresh powder! We love it--snow for the skiers, and no snow for us "townies!"

Mickie612 12-14-2010 08:32 AM

We are having a heat wave. It is up to freezing. Something like 16 this morning. Mother Nature is LOHAO.

decky 12-14-2010 01:54 PM

The high for Southern MN for today is -5 and the low last night was -13 and about the same temps for tomorrow. Guess winter is here.

mountain deb 12-14-2010 03:26 PM

It was down to 14 degrees when I went to work this am. School called off due to the low temps. Wind chill factor at minus 10. Drove DH truck to work this a.m. heater takes longer to heat up than my drive to work and no, I do not preheat the vehicles, I start and I go.

eimay 12-14-2010 04:27 PM

My sister and brother in law went to Pensacola to get away from the coldfront predicted for their hometown of Estill Springs, Tn. It seems Florida got the same coldfront. Poor Canada got similar temperatures but with blizzard conditions. Remember the commercial...don't mess with Mother Nature?

Navy Wife 12-14-2010 04:39 PM

The Smokies are covered with snow and beautiful! We had 10 this morning and 12 for tomorrow. High was 26 with sun. Tomorrow will be snow, then ice, then rain by Thursday AM. We're headed to FL Monday if I get the motorhome packed! Maybe it will warm up by then.

Joan Gaddis 12-14-2010 04:47 PM

Ditter43 12-14-2010 08:11 PM

This is our second night of below freezing temps. It was already below freezing at 7p.m. It's going to be a long, cold night! :|

fishnlady 12-14-2010 09:36 PM

Somebody please keep that cold front from from coming to Alaska. Up until recently we have had a great Fall. But now it is getting cold here too. 15° here right now at 8:30PM. I imagine the old monster (severe winter) will get us before its over though.
Ditter, my husband and I had a good laugh over your little quote.
