Yes, air conditioning!!!!!!!!!!
Without it I'd have to get my broom out and go for a ride hee hee

But it could be worse- one of my sons lives in DC and he said it's been over 100 for several days! YIKES

Carrie Jo 05-31-2011 07:13 AM

we have had over 80 degrees for the last couple days and we livein a 130yr old farm house with no air. It hasnt been to bad so far but its just starting. Thank goodness for lots of fans.

QuiltnNan 05-31-2011 07:13 AM

i had mine going yesterday when the family was over for the holiday

erstan947 05-31-2011 07:13 AM

We have been in the 90's. I hate it so hot this early in the year. Look out in August:)

Melrose R 05-31-2011 07:37 AM

And we are 20 degrees below normal for this time of year over here!

ontheriver 05-31-2011 07:38 AM

Was 98 here in central Alabama yesterday, sticky with the humidity. Turned my air on for the first time this year.

CarrieAnne 05-31-2011 07:44 AM

Cant wait for some nice warm days here!

DebsShelties 05-31-2011 07:46 AM

Supposed to be mid 90's most of the week here in Central Va also very humid.
Already 87 at 11:45 am.

lyndad 05-31-2011 07:46 AM

our high for Sunday was 102 and wildfires all around our area, very scary day, the winds were 50 mph and up

LovinMySoldier 05-31-2011 08:08 AM

It is suppose to be all of 60 today south of Seattle. I can't wait for a bit warmer weather.

wolfkitty 05-31-2011 08:30 AM

I had mine going quite a bit yesterday, and it's supposed to be hotter today (92 - that's hot for here) and muggy. Yuck!

SherriB 05-31-2011 08:35 AM

It is so hot and muggy here. But DH is a butt and refuses to put in the air conditioners until we threaten to commit mutiny on him and take over the ship!!! It is like this every year. But after it gets put in, he is like " I am glad we decided to put it in afterall." He makes me want to run away and join the circus some days.

sueisallaboutquilts 05-31-2011 09:45 AM

Yesterday I watched the Yankees play in Oakland and it was only 60 degrees. I wanted to be there LOL

MadQuilter 05-31-2011 09:50 AM

Our high today is only estimated at 66. I'm wearing my winter clothes. Not (yet) whining - just saying.

jrharry 05-31-2011 09:57 AM

Usually its in the 80's or 90's on Memorial Day weekend in Northern California. Saw lots of boats and RV's going to Lake Shasta. It was threating rain, cold, and lots of thunder andlightening in the surrounding area this last weekend. Its just fine with me as it can get very hot here during June, July, August like 110 or higher. Thank goodness for air conditioning!

quiltinggirl 05-31-2011 10:07 AM

I am so grateful for the A/C! I know many who can't afford to turn theirs on. :(

craftybear 05-31-2011 02:09 PM

89 degress today in central Indiana

I have the blinds closed on all windows with ceiling fans on in the house and we don't need the air conditioner on, nice and comfortable in the house

Dotsie 06-01-2011 04:06 AM

On this side of the globe we are freezing!!!!

newell 06-01-2011 08:47 AM

I'm here in Portland, Or. where we've had pretty much rain, rain, rain. Right now, I'd give pretty much anything to have some 80 to 90 degree days, even the humidity. We've had a few nice warm day -- maybe 2-3 in a row but that's been it.

I think this is why a lot of Oregonian's have web feet! (LOL)

DianD 06-01-2011 10:07 AM

Out here in the desert, we've already had several 100* + days. Last week, we topped out at 106*. I'm terrified about our upcoming electric bill...may have to sell a body part to pay it!
Like I've said, the only difference between us and a baked potato is the foil wrapper and the sour cream!
Also, we are deep in a drought, with only 1/10th of an inch of rain this year. We ended last year at 9 inches under where we should have been, and it looks like this year may be the same.
For all of you who are able to grow gardens...think of me fondly when you dine - all my vegetables are those pasty flavorless things from the grocery store!

Yooper32 06-01-2011 11:30 AM

two weeks ago, I had a portable ceramic heater behind my computer chair in the mornings to keep from freezing my legs off. Yesterday, I gave up and turned on the CA. The day before, I tried to tough it out and was useless all day, just can't take heat and humidity, so gave in and flipped the switch. Thought I could get in at least one month of low electic bills but guess that idea is flushed down.

madamekelly 06-01-2011 12:04 PM

I think ya all ought to share! It is up to 68 here, and raining. They are saying we will have thunderstorms later today. :XD:

thomp116 06-01-2011 12:08 PM

Was awful here yesterday - hot and humid. Today it is 73, breezy, and NO humidity. It's gorgeous! It can stay like this until November, and then some snow till Christmas!

Quiltzilla 06-01-2011 12:41 PM

It's mid-afternoon, 97° and windy here in Dallas

delma_paulk 06-01-2011 03:11 PM

newell 06-01-2011 04:05 PM

I'd be glad to send you some of our rain if I knew how.

newell 06-01-2011 04:09 PM

Not to changee the subject or anything, but I'm wondering where in the central Willamette Valley are you from?

newell 06-01-2011 04:11 PM

I think I kind of goof here --- Madamekelly, What part of the central Willamette Valley are you from? I live in Oregon City but grew up on Mt. Angel

May I come live with you. That's my kind of weather. After a heat stroke when in HS, I can't take hot & humid. If it's too bad, I get sick to my stomach. I prefer winter except I can't have doors and windows open to let in fresh air. I'll be wishing for that snow drift on the patio very soon. LOL

Same here in Coos Bay and we are to have rain for the next several days.

Rose Ann 06-01-2011 06:06 PM

TX has been in a drought for so long, we don't know what rain looks like. Our heat started in early March and hasn't let up. And, summer hasn't officially started yet. Thank gosh for air conditioning. Don't know how the early Texans handled the heat.

ljorange 06-01-2011 07:29 PM

I would love nothing more than to be able to complain about not having air conditioning. When it hits the 90's here you just try to store it up because it won't last long! I'm still dressing in layers!

jeannie t 06-02-2011 08:52 AM

Been in the 90's here but finally no storms so I'll take the heat.

luce321 06-02-2011 03:24 PM

The last few days here in Louisiana, it has been in the high 90's. In Baton Rouge, LA today, it was 100 degrees.
Its going to be a long hot summer. Yikes!!! We need some rain.

true4uca 06-02-2011 03:38 PM

We were going to turn off the heat yesterday. Jacked it up a notch today. This is so unusal. I should be camping.
