I grew up on it and the shows hold a special place in my memory. I especially like the one when Aunt Bee comes to live with them.

I loved all of them, but...
1. The first one with Aunt Bea (what'll happen to her; she can't do nothing?) and
2. Barney: Nip it. Nip it right in the bud. Oh, also the one where he "remembers" the whatever it is and can't remember one word!

By the way, why did Andy have to have Helen as his eventual wife? She wasn't the prettiest or the nicest! I guess her temper and jealousies made for good comedy? I didn't like her at all.

I watched the marathon Saturday. It was the early ones where Opie was adorably young. No Ernest T. Bass just Otis, no Gomer - loved them all. Had several good laughs. I told my husband that I wished towns were still as homey as Mayberry.

I haven't watched the show in years but I do remember the episode where Aunt Bea didn't feel needed by them anymore. If remember it right Andy and Opie messed up the house so she would still feel needed.
