If you go to garage sales, always check out the least expensive clothes with lots of buttons. You might not want the particular clothes item but you could start building up a button stash that way!

So you go to just thrift stores? Not goodwill? I haven't had any luck at Goodwill finding material the few times I have gone. Just curious if there is a difference between the two.

A neighbor of ours had a yardsale that was just advertised as BIG, and when I got there all there was was fabric, fabric, fabric and patterns and books and notions, and quilting Stuff. All fabrics were $1.00 a yard and excellent quality. She has been teaching in her little workshop and had to quit for health reasons. I spent $50.00 and really did some stash building
