I saved many projects that I may make next year. You can sew by hand in any room! :-)

Sorry ladies, i also write lists. But, geniunely I accomplish more. I'm going to finish my WIP's which are mostly donation quilts. And I have a couple cut that I'd also like to finish. I too need to shop from my satsh. Which is definitely out of control. Ya know, I found I was mostly a scrap quilter. And I just bought to much of any one fabric. (I need to work on that.) It's a goal. I had no list this year and I found I really didn't accomplish that much. And there was so much I wanted to do. Well, hopefully I will be more productive next year.

I hope you enjoy your holiday. Maybe plan a small handwork project while your on your break from quilting. I'm going to take a couple of handwork projects on my week away at my daughters. I just have to stay busy.

So, now I'm sad because I won't be able to sew for a few weeks. I was really tempted to not put up the tree. But I am having people visit, so I really didnt have a choice. Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. I'm getting my list ready for what I want to make in 2012. Does anyone else have ideas as to what they are going to make?

I'm with you, I just finished my last Christmas project, for this year at least. It is a tote bag for me to take Christmas shopping with my daughter next week. It has an embroidery section on the front of a snowman. I still have to clean up my sewing room. I am really going to try to get more use out of my Brother embroidery machine next year and try to do 3 UFO's a month so I can buy new fabric!!

Well I also finished all my sewing Christmas gifts. Tree up. This year I just wanted a live tree...I love the smell it puts in the house. I've made my goal for 2012 to finish ALL UFO's I have hidden all over. Then I can look forward to starting something new when they're all done. Merry Christmas to You all. May you have the best year ever in 2012.

Maybe you can come up with some hand sewing projects until your tree is down. Right now I am thinking I'd like to make tree skirts for all the kids next year - will need 5 of them. I'm definitely going to start earlier on gift ideas. Have a Merry Christmas!

I have a 8 foot tall elephant Begona plant in my front room and since I live alone I just made several felt ornaments and hung them on that plant . It looks really good and saves me from putting up the old tree.Merry Christmas to all. Handquilter

I can't imagine having my sewing room taken over by anything, even a Christmas tree. So many ideas for 2012. Have decided not to quilt for anyone but myself for a change. I want to quilt the following patterns: pineapple, houses, trees, grandmother's fan, simple 4" squares in all shades and sizes of pink and creams with flowers for my bed, and maybe try a cathedral window quilt. Would love to try to piece a scene, you know like houses, trees, rolling hills, a barn, sky and maybe a fence. I am sure there are many more but these come to mind right now. Maybe I can post pictures of these at the end of the year. Have a wonderful holiday and your tree will be taken down before you know it. Enjoy your company.

Don't you like hand projects? I like doing some embroidery or hand sewing when I can't use my machine. Maybe give English paper piecing a try, it's something I'd like to try in the new year. Just because we can't use our machine it doesnt mean we can't sew.
