I just had to share this. Last Sunday it was 60 degrees. Tuesday morning we had rain that turned to ice and then record lows during the week. Some of the streets were partially cleared yesterday from the traffic, but still have ice, especially where the tires didn't wear it off.

And now we have 5 inches of snow on top of that. Welcome to the Super Bowl.

Anyone want to lay down on the lounge chair?

Looks more like Missouri. Hang in there. They say spring is on the way.

LoisN, I love your avatar. Is it a wall hanging? Do you mind telling me what pattern it is?

It's GOD's way of telling Jerry Jones that HE is in charge, not Jerry.

SuziC 02-04-2011 06:36 AM

I cannot believe the weather in your area. That is usually what we get here. Glad to share LOL

kateyb 02-04-2011 06:40 AM

My part of CO has had little to no snow although it is 11 degrees.

amma 02-04-2011 07:26 AM

WOW!! That is a lot of snow and ice when you aren't used to dealing with it. I hope that you get a warm front moving in soon :D:D:D

olgaflowers 02-04-2011 07:30 AM

Boy, I'm glad I'm a quilter, with weather like this :).

nativetexan 02-04-2011 07:32 AM

I just heard it's colder right now in Amarillo, Tx than in Alaska!!! that's saying something!!

Funny isn't it. We are getting it again today.

auntmag 02-04-2011 07:38 AM

I have the same opinion. Do you suppose this will make Mr. Jones a little more humble?

rosemaynes 02-04-2011 07:40 AM

WOW, I feel like that is what it should look like out side... but I live in AZ and have never seen snow in person.

Cyn 02-04-2011 07:41 AM

Pretty pics! Makes me chilly :)

wvdek 02-04-2011 08:02 AM

Our snow is almost all gone. Hang in there, only about 6-8 weeks of winter left so they say.
SO, the question is, "Super Bowl or no Super Bowl"?

sewwhat85 02-04-2011 08:06 AM

crazy isnt it

Sandi19 02-04-2011 08:07 AM

That's just crazy. Our oldest son lives in F. Worth and he isn't intimidated with the snow(being from Chicago), but the ice is terrible! I hope it clears up for the Super Bowl.

dinlauren 02-04-2011 08:07 AM

No work or school......time to play with sewing!!! Have fun!! I know I am.lol

watson's mom 02-04-2011 08:25 AM

I was telling my son in Saskatoon how cold it is here and how much snow we got this week. He laughed and said that it is warming up, up there...He said it's only -20 instead of -45. Definitely colder than here.

littlehud 02-04-2011 08:42 AM

Yikes. That's just not right. Looks like my yard but I live in Iowa.

laurlync 02-04-2011 09:02 AM

When did they move Texas so far north??? I thought we were a southern state. Luckily here in Texarkana we are just getting snow this time as we usually get a good, thick layer of ice and sleet first. However, we are pretty close to the 5" mark now and it's still snowing.

OKLAHOMA PEACH 02-04-2011 09:09 AM

Same here, snowing away, forcast for more next week. UGH

Champagnolle 02-04-2011 09:53 AM

My daughter and her family live in Dallas. They have been home all week. Finally yesterday the kid's other grandparents came over to help with the 3 year old and 6 year old so my daughter and son-in-law can get some work done. She said the kids are as happy as they were Christmas week.

Suzanne57 02-04-2011 03:48 PM

This week has been crazy. Work closed Tuesday, (paid time off thank you BOA) tried to go to work Wednesday, slid into ditch (only thing hurt was my wallet), worked Thursday, got up super early this morning, drove to work to find once again closed. Tomorrow we shall see.

craftymatt2 02-05-2011 06:30 AM

OH MY!!! Illinois, at least the part I live in had 18" of snow. We want to retire in a few years (hopefully) and move to Arizona, but I guess it gets cold there also. Oh me oh my what is a northerner to do.

BluegrassGurl 02-05-2011 06:32 AM

goodness.... what timing. Stay safe!

jhoward 02-05-2011 06:43 AM

Looks alot like MN. : ) The Packers and Steelers will feel at home in the snow.

brendadawg 02-05-2011 07:03 AM

Bet those folks from Pittsburg and Green Bay thought they were coming to the "sunny south". Not!!

CarrieAnne 02-05-2011 07:09 AM

BRRRRRRRRR!

Midwestmary 02-05-2011 07:14 AM

I can't remember a time when so many states have been impacted by extreme weather all at the same time. The satellite photos of the storm that hit much of the country last week were amazing. I've been reading also about the extremely cold temps in Arizona. Our weather here in Iowa hasn't been all that unusual for us - but my heart goes out to you in the south! BRRRR!

jgriinke 02-05-2011 08:44 AM

Our Packers won't have a problem with that weather!!!
Go Pack Go!!!

sew wishful 02-05-2011 08:51 AM

I'm laughing at our "snowbirds" right now! They thought they were getting away from this weather!! NOT!!

Barbshobbies 02-05-2011 09:29 AM

I`M FROM GREEN BAY ....GO PACK GO... AND WE HAVE THE SAME WEATHER YOU HAVE, BUT WE ARE USED TO IT.

CGail 02-05-2011 10:13 AM

So unusual for Texas. I live about 200 miles south of Dallas, and we are the same - unbelieveable. - Cynthia

Rettie V. Grama 02-05-2011 01:12 PM

That's just a little snow. Outside my LR and BR windows I have a drift 9 feet tall. The building around the corner has a drift that almost hides the whole of the first floor.

Becca Bear 02-05-2011 05:52 PM

Looks like a good excuse to stay inside and quilt!

IBQUILTIN 02-05-2011 07:26 PM

Spring is on a short delay this year. Enjoy the beasuty and quiet of the snow

franie 02-05-2011 07:28 PM

It was warmer here the other morning than in AZ and TX and yes it is the banana belt of AK!

Yes that does look like Missouri, and we have more snow coming the first of the week! Some how the snow has gotten lost, it does sure doesn't belong in Dallas! and we don't want it here either. Snow is meant for Ski Slopes and Tall mountains, not my driveway!

grandma sue 02-05-2011 08:28 PM

Looks about like my yard. We have 5' drifts in our yard. Got 21" this week, another 3" yesterday and expecting 8-12" more this next week. Very unusual for us.
