I've refinished and reupolstered furniture for years. The wood is probably mahogany. Stripped and refinished and reupolstered that set would sell for an EASY $ 1000. Place it in a consignment shop or the multi vender Antique locales and walk away. On-line is usless for this type of thing.

Me too. I have given away good working machines on freecycle. So yes I would trade one of my good old machines for this, redo it. It looks like a pretty easy job too. I am glad I am not the only one. Of course I would have to be twenty years younger too. LOL

I'm with you on this one. I could do the refinishing...and there is probably good upholsterer around here...but I don't know of
any. They could be made into some beautiful pieces.

huh??

I like to trade for things too. What got me is the machine has to be a GOOD machine and work REAL Good. If not trading he wants 500.00. Not happening.

The posting isn't a joke. He has them listed a couple times.

So what kind of idiot do they think they can scam?????

Taughtby Grandma 10-16-2011 03:11 PM

Do you think they would take a needle and thread? That's about all I would trade. Really I wouldn't trade because then I would have to take the chair!

Perhaps insanity runs in their family.

I can bet refinished, they are worth alot . most likely alot more than an old sewing machine.
They should put in an auction.
