Dena789 10-15-2011 04:30 PM

Yikes! What do some people think??

cathyvv 10-15-2011 04:39 PM

Hysterical! I guess the 'trader' thinks that because they're old, maybe antique, they're worth something.

Nothing ventured, nothing gained, though.

akrogirl 10-15-2011 04:44 PM

Wow, I have seen some pretty bad things on Craigslist, but I think they have to be amongst the worst! Unreal

New Quilter 10-15-2011 04:55 PM

Caswews 10-15-2011 05:04 PM

wow !! well some people think their "stuff" is worth $$..I guess if one was a furniture refinisher that would be it ..But seeing how I am not, all I can say is good luck on that one !LOL

Carron 10-15-2011 05:05 PM

I wonder if anyone will answer that posting!

bjeriann 10-15-2011 05:07 PM

I wouldn't even trade a broken sewing machine for that.

MsMel 10-15-2011 05:07 PM

Unless these are some rare antiques worth something to the right person I have no clue what these people are thinking :)...lol

mommamac 10-15-2011 05:12 PM

think their old machine died trying to fit up these wonderful chairs?!!

Pam Perry 10-15-2011 05:20 PM

Well if I had those, I would want a good machine also!!!!!!

All I could say was "Ha! Ha!" -

while it might be an antique, it is not in good working order, so how can you ask for a good working machine in exchange for what some would call junk? On the other hand, the saying goes "one man's junk is another man's treasure!" and obviously the "seller" is trying to find the treasure.

June in Cincinnati

Candace 10-15-2011 05:51 PM

No, I won't trade them, but maybe I'll pay the $500 they're asking....NOT!!!

Mandie 10-15-2011 05:52 PM

Too funny

YUCK.

sandy12010 10-15-2011 06:46 PM

I couldnt see myself trading a non useable machine let alone a good one...All I can say is Good Luck to them in finding what they want..

Crqltr 10-15-2011 07:10 PM

Good luck with that one!

JanetM 10-15-2011 09:06 PM

   Yeah, right.

amyjo 10-15-2011 09:17 PM

I wouldn't give them a good sewing machine for the pair of them even if they were in good shape. They are old, but need a complete going over. 500 or good working machine doesn't quite cut it. It was a good laugh tho. How dumb do they think us sewers are, unless they are trying to con someone.

sewnsewer2 10-15-2011 10:28 PM

That's a good one for the show where 2 guys take your junk, fix it up and give it back to you! LOL

Chasing Hawk 10-15-2011 10:51 PM

I would go for that deal. Even a cheap machine from Wal Mart may do for the trade. He asks for a good woking machine! :)

Beauty is in the eye of the Upholsterer.......that would be me :)

Well....make sure they are a few GOOD words and you say them in a very GOOD not nice way!!

Murphy 10-16-2011 02:57 AM

Interesting. Definitely a positive thinking person.

AshleyR 10-16-2011 04:05 AM

Bahahaha I saw those too and thought the same thing!! If I'm not mistaken, there are several ads for it.. here's another: http://knoxville.craigslist.org/atq/2649013970.html

Yooper32 10-16-2011 04:10 AM

It always amazes me. We have a weekly paper that you can list things for sale or trade or wanted. There is always a listing wanting: Free or very inexpensive antiques or furniture. Must be in good or excellent condition. And, my comment to self is always,"good luck with that one".

MaryKatherine 10-16-2011 04:34 AM

Personally, IF I needed more furniture which I don't, and was twenty years younger, I would trade my current GOOD sewing machine.
I've refinished and reupolstered furniture for years. The wood is probably mahogany. Stripped and refinished and reupolstered that set would sell for an EASY $ 1000. Place it in a consignment shop or the multi vender Antique locales and walk away. On-line is usless for this type of thing.
