I have this lovely little Moorecroft "vase" that sits behind my machine cords and holds necessary notions at a very handy place! The ironing board is just around the corner.

A little wooden upright piano with 3 small kittens sitting on it and it's a music box. Keep it up on a shelf in the sewing room.

I don't have things of sorts from others but I do have a little Christmas ornament that was taken of my 2nd granddaughter when she was about 2. We were very close and she spent so much time when she was little at my house. I guess that's why I like the picture so much because it was during that time frame. I put it on top of the window AC years ago when I was cleaning and came across it.

Now it is even more special because a few years ago we lost her at a young age of 18. I always feel she's watching me. I hold it close to my heart.

Quilt on wall made by Grandma and her treadle sewing machine, crochet hooks and much more. I'm an only child and granddaughter, so didn't have to divide with anyone.

Am so sorry for your loss. Our grands are very special and I can't imagine even losing one of my four.

I have three button boxes from a friend, and two family members that are no longer with us. I have my mom's old banking bag with a travel iron I use on retreats. There is a covered micassa china dish I keep the long quilting pins of my deceased mom. The rest of her sewing notions I gave to my ten year old niece who now sews like a champ with her own machine.

My machine cover has bits of fabric from my mother and miss matlock's stash. She was an amazing woman who experienced the prejudices of the sixties first hand. Oh how I loved being with her. What stories she could tell of her life and what a wonderful cook!

Of course I have family photos and my wonderful companions, my sewing machines.

My dad made the shelves I use to store my fabric in. I also have a chest that DH bought unfinished and he finished it (one of the only things he ever painted). I smile just seeing these things in my sewing room.
