We once traveled to the Netherlands to see the tulips. They are gorgeous with varieties we'd never seen. Some blossoms were as big as my husband's hand. One word of advice if you think about going....remember tulips blossom in spring weather. I've heard of people who didn't think about it and went in the summer and were diappointed that they didn't see any tulips!

There is a tulip festival in Mt. Vernon, Wa. every
April. It looks very similar to your picture. Just breath taking. Beautiful.

Just beautiful. We seen many like these when we went to Holland twice, as we were stationed in Germany for 9 yrs. I even made my own wooden shoes!

During WWII the Dutch royal family came to Ottawa to escape the Nazis. The queen gave birth to one of her daughters while being ln exile. Since after the war, the Dutch government sends thousands of tulips bulb to our government every year. They usually bloom the second week of May. The city is beautiful, that is now the Tulip Festival and you are welcome! Thanks Ditter, your beautiful pictures allowed me to mention a fact easily forgotten in Canadian history.
