I always called how I tied my kids shoes the 'mommy knot'...tie as usual then tie the two loops together...now I call it a 'grammy knot'. Does not come undone even if stepped on.

I worked with 4 and 5 yrs olds in Sunday School. One day a little boy took off his shoes I was trying to untie them put them back on....he kept telling me "my mommie goooded them. Finally I realized his mama had GLUED them!!!!Too funny!

Many moons ago, when I played tennis----this was the way "all" tennis players tied their tennis shoes. I have always tied my shoes this way since. It works!!!!!! I think it's called a tennis bow.
