It can be very confusing. Size in mb isn't the same as physical size. It's the digital info contained within the picture. When you shrink down the size of the picture in mb, you end up losing some details, but you can't tell you're losing the detail unless you enlarge it, say to something like 16 x 18 inches. So, sizing the pictures down to less than 1 mb will help a LOT of people here on the board, because it doesn't take as long to download as a picture that is 5 mb.
