WARNING! if using Bounce sheet to clean your iron, be sure it's a USED Bounce sheet. Don't ask me how I know (and right in front of DH, too!!!!)

I am super sensitive to fragrances so would also appreciate knowing the answer to this question.

ajohn52 03-07-2011 12:08 PM

I'll try the ones about the insects...they always seem to like me when I'm outside.

Anne T 03-07-2011 01:04 PM

Thanks, there were a few new uses I didn't know.:)

ann clare 03-07-2011 01:09 PM

craftymatt2 03-07-2011 05:35 PM

ann31039 03-07-2011 06:10 PM

roseOfsharon 03-07-2011 06:19 PM

Wow! Thanks for sharing cjmomma!

dljennings 03-07-2011 07:22 PM

except the stink of them sends my allergies into hyperdrive.... can't even stand to hold the grandkids if they have clothes on that have been done with them...

donnalynett 03-07-2011 07:27 PM

I've tried them on my horse's bridle to repel mosquitoes but it didn't help.

Debra Mc 03-07-2011 07:32 PM

They also work to wipe the gum or ink out of the washer or hot dryer.

annette1952 03-07-2011 08:05 PM

Thanks for the info. I heard of some of them but there is alot more listed I never heard of. I'll be trying them!

janjj 03-07-2011 08:45 PM

I put a nail through them and 'plant' them near my hosta. Keeps the deer from eating them.

Crafty Darlene 03-07-2011 08:55 PM

Thanks for the list Carrie, never knew so much about Bounce Sheets!

nlgh 03-07-2011 09:22 PM

Dee 03-07-2011 10:28 PM

Stitchit123 03-07-2011 11:02 PM

Thanx I have been on the losing end of a war with ants all winter in my bathroom now I may be victorious yet --charging off to do battle ,I"ll let you know who wins Dawn-vs-Ants

Stitchit123 03-07-2011 11:08 PM

Connie in Co let me know about those gophers my SIL thinks she may have to use dynomite -way to drastic

saf 03-08-2011 02:27 AM

Great tips. Can't wait to try them and pass them on. Going to Scotland later this year. Can't wait to see if it deals with the midges there. They are fierce and I was breakfast lunch and dinner every day last year.

janjj 03-08-2011 04:44 AM

Great idea for ants. About 3 years ago I had lots of ants and the terro didn't do anything. Went online and of the many suggestions I chose baby powder. worked like a charm. Word spread among the ants. Don't go there. terrible stuff! Haven't had any since.

You know you can totally freak out a mole with pieces of JuicyFruit gum. I bet it will work.

Stitchit123 03-08-2011 12:00 PM

I just hate to admit defeat but those damn ants have set up a tent city on top of the dryer sheet :hunf: and I am positive that they were laughing at me.My aunt says to use Terra but I really don"t like using chemicals around my critters some one else suggested fresh Bay Leafs I"ll try anything ,my brother can"t understand, spiders don"t bother me but ants do?But I say they may have won the skirmish but I plan to win the war!!!

Have you tried using baby powder? It suffocates the ants.

Izaquilter 03-08-2011 08:12 PM

We had so much fun 'running a mole out" last summer! We've tried juicy fruit gum, mole traps, pepper, you name it. Then I saw a fresh mound & DS was running the hose on his boat motor to make sure it started before he got out on the lake & I told him to bring it to me before he put it up. I stuck that hose in the mole hole & out he came! Way too fast! i wasn't ready for him & he went back in & we got a Rubbermaid tote & was ready for him the next time! We laughed so hard but got rid of him. Now it's a summer game for us "catch the mole".

Ruby the Quilter 03-08-2011 08:41 PM

Going to take one when I play golf in the summer -

I enjoyed the list, too. Especially interested in the bug repellant aspect.

I agree with cjomomma
I used baby powder and they never - never returned after 3 years even! Guess the ants spread the word about the baby powder. Wonder if that would work for moles !? ha

Cinnamon also sends the ants scattering. It's messy, but when you have an ant highway, 4 lanes each way, and no bug spray, a little mess is nothing.
