Some states print them right there in the DMV for you, but some, you have to wait for them to be processed, then printed and mailed.

I like your dh's reaction the best!

Made me smile and then think of what my Grandmothers response would have been....White with Blue highlights! Hee, Hee, Hee....I sure do miss her.

Julie, I was just looking at mine yesterday. It says I still weigh ??? !!!!! I guess they don't really know how big, big is! What is with NM doing the "we'll send your license to you. If it isn't there in 45 days, contact. . . . " Didn't we used to walk out with it? I got mine in about a week, though (this past March.) I look all jaundice-y, though. Really bad lighting. I guess the state is looking for $$$ any way they can get it. We have to fork over an additional $4.00 to fund the building! Had to be a separate check, too!

Here in Arkansas - they send you a notice the year your license expires which is ON YOUR BIRTHDAY not the end of the month like it used to be. And we've gotten more humane - they only list your sex, height, and color of EYES. Since our hair/weight are subject to change so much they're not much good for identification. lol

A few years back when I was still coloring my hair I had to get new driver's license, examiner asked what color my hair was and I said #246 ! He looked like I had uttered a profanity ! It was great...

The other day I was at JA's....older lady was waiting for her fabric to be cut and she mentioned she is 87 years old and had had a stroke a while back, but was still busy crocheting, etc......said she used that "irrigation" thread....bless her sweet heart she meant varigated ! I'm not making fun of her by no means, I had a stroke last year and in my mind I knew the word I wanted but what came out of my mouth was something else ! One night my daughter asked if I needed a fork or a spoon to eat my dinner and my reply was a cup !
