Had not heard that, but can't say I am surprised. My MIL (RIP) always told me to put Vicks on my kids bumps and bruises when they were learning to walk so people wouldn't think they were beaten. It took away the swelling and bruising almost immediately. And I have come to believe I "breathe" through my feet- (my body temp seems to be determined by my feet warm or cold) so...

It also works great for healing cuts in feet, heels from callouses. just put it on and wear socks to bed and feet will be nice and soft in the morning and healed up in a couple of days.

Some of us have used Vicks VapoRub for years for everything from chapped lips to sore toes and many body parts in between. But I've never heard of this. And don't laugh, it works 100% of the time, although the scientists who discovered it aren't sure why. To stop night time coughing in a child (or adult as we found out personally), put Vicks VapoRub generously on the soles of your feet, cover with socks, and the heavy, deep coughing will stop in about 5 minutes and stay stopped for many, many hours of relief. Works 100% of the time and is more effective in children than even very strong prescription cough medicines. In addition it is extremely soothing and comforting and they will sleep soundly.

Just happened to tune in A.M. Radio and picked up this guy talking about why cough medicines in kids often do more harm than good, due to the chemicals in them. This method of using Vicks VapoRub on the soles of the feet was found to be more effective than prescribed medicines for children at bed time. In addition it seems to have a soothing and calming effect on sick children who then went on to sleep soundly.

My wife tried it on herself when she had a very deep constant and persistent cough a few weeks ago and it worked 100%! She said that it felt like a warm blanket had enveloped her, coughing stopped in a few minutes. So she went from; every few seconds uncontrollable coughing, she slept cough-free for hours every night she used it.

If you have grandchildren, pass this on. If you end up sick, try it yourself and you will be amazed at how it works.
DON'T SHUN THIS ONE.. TRY IT THE NEXT TIME YOU GET A BAD COLD. THE ONLY THING YOU CAN LOSE IS YOUR COUGH..

This was sent to me by my DC who also gave me the "Perfect Binding" tute and that sure works!

YES it does work. My mother used it for us when we were small and I used it for my children, grown now. They have both used it since they left home. Also if you don't have Vicks, use metholatum, it works the same way, that was what my mother always used, and she also rubbed it on our chest. Both work well for runny and stopped up noses, by just putting a LITTLE bit just below the nose and this helps as it is inhaled to clear up stuffy noses.

my granddaughter uses this method for my gr. granddaughter instead of oral medications and swears by it. i've tried it on myself with no luck, had to resort to asthma inhalers. but it's great if it works on kids, too many adverse reactions with oral cough meds.

I use it almost every night. For some strange reason, it helps me fall asleep. I even put it up my nose, lol

I had justthe beginning of a sore throat just before Christmas, I'd been exposed several times to streph at school, I did the Vick's treatment two nights in a row and have been fine!PTL didn't want to spend my Christmas break with streph. Also works for foot fungusand justfeeling like crud.

I've heard that it works for toenail fungus but it doesn't make sense. Fungus is nearly impossible to destroy. I can't see how the ingredients in Vicks could do it.
Has anyone had success with it?? Thanks for any info.
