I left my purse in a Burger King across from a quilt show in Denver. It's not the best part of town. When I discovered it missing, I ran back across the road and discovered someone had turned it in and my $400 in cash was intact. Many working class people in the restaurant who could have used the cash. Thanks to all of the honest and ethical people of the world!

Your keys were stolen too?
Hope you have your house locks changed or add a deadbolt lock and I hope that you park you car in the garage. A friend had her purse stolen, then the police called a few days later and asked her to come down to the station. It wasn't the police who called....the thieves were watching her leave her house. They broke in and stole jewelry, money and electonics. There is no end to what these people will do.

My purse was stolen 2 years ago and we still are putting a CLUB on the last car in our driveway at night! I did not get anything back...except for a phone call from a long haul trucker (who called me about 4 weeks later) who was on the road in Nebraska to say he found my cell phone at a casino in Philadelphia, PA! Why did he wait until he got to Nebraska to call?? I told him to throw the phone away since I had already replaced it! Kind of scary, though, with all my identification in the purse. Luckily I had my keys in my pocket but "they" know where I live! The slightest sound in the night wakes me up shaking!

I thieves steal my purse and phone, I can find them.
My phone has GPS for that reason....to find lost phones.
I tried the GPS the other day. It showed exactly where I was....now if they ever come up with a GPS chip for in home use...I could find my car keys and glasses.

I told this nice lady to watch her purse as she was walking away form cart. She says I should know better. My purse was stolen last week from here. Some you win and others you lose. I won't wallk down the aisle if I see a cart with a purse in it, and nobody around. I don't want to be accused of taking it.

This is all so sad but true... I use my waist bag and keep it strapped in front of me! I was with a friend once that had the same thing happen to her, only her purse was wide open and the thief just plucked out her wallet and took credit cards, ss card and cash.... There are alot of desperate people out there.

I am so sorry for you; yes, I hope it was taken by someone who actually needed the money desparately. But, just keep thinking, physics says "for every action, there is an opposit and equal reaction" (or something close - Im not a physicist -lol) so if you had something taken you should have something given of equal value show up on your doorstep! I like to see the world thru positive glasses! sharet

I accidently left my purse in the grocery cart and drove home not realizing I did not have it. Son came over to pick me up a few hours later to take me to dinner and I could not find my purse. I had a lot of money in it. We went back to Wal*Mart and I went to Customer Service to see if it had been truned in. To my surprise it was there and to a bigger surprise all my money was still in it. This Happened at the Benton Wal*Mart in Benton, AR and I just wish I could personnaly thank whoever returned it. Sorry for your loss but there are good people out there also.

I have started locking my purse in the trunk or just leaving it at home and carrying only a small id holder (like college kids use) with my driver's license, insurance card, debit card and maybe a few dollars. It seems that with the economy so bad that more people are becoming desperate and the crime rate is going up higher all the time. I carry this mini wallet in my back pocket. Hopefully this will stop most people as they don't really expect women to carry a wallet in their back pocket.

I'm still trying to make a fanny pack that will carry my unmentionable since the store-bought ones are so expensive!

It always leaves you feeling so violated and vulnerable when something like this happens to you. Thank you for the reminder...guess I'll start putting my ID and CC in my pocket and leaving my purse at home when I shop, and front pockets are harder to pick than back pockets!

The paper here had a front page story the other day about people stealing papers just to get the coupons. Times are bad.

It's also a good idea to look for missing checks in the back of your checkbook. By the time you realize they are gone, the thief has already used them.

You ladies scared the daylights out of me. Fortunately my husband accompanies me shopping. A pain when shopping for fabric
