YUCK! A woman at the discount food store that hands out samples, told me that a woman, right in front of her opened a jar of something, peeled back the top, stuck her finger in and tasted it. Then she tasted it a SECOND time....and put the jar back on the shelf! I now open ALL jars to make sure it's sealed!

Also -- I once bought a package of Kotex. I took it off the shelf and tossed it in the basket. When I got up to the counter, I discovered it had been opened and one pad was missing!!!!!!!

I was grocery shopping the other day by the spices and there was a big sign saying you had to ask an employee for poppy seeds! Why would someone only take the poppy seeds???

Poppy seeds can "pop" a person positive for drugs. But...you have to ingest a HUGE amount of them. Back some years ago, there was a sailer that was found positive for drugs. He swore up and down that he NEVER used and the ONLY drug they found in his system was a form of opiates due to ingesting the poppy seeds. Don't know what happened to the guy...

But, you can check out Snopes.com and you'll find out that it's true.

Info re Poppy Seeds. The seeds themselves do not contain significant amounts of opiates. But a poppy tea consumed in some areas and often referred to as doda has been controversial for containing ground opium poppy plant, especially the seed head, and contains significant levels of opiates.[32] Popular in some South Asian communities, doda is created by grinding dried poppy husks or poppy seeds into a fine powder and then ingesting the mix with hot water or tea. In Canada, doda is made from poppy plants brought in from Afghanistan and Arizona under the guise of legal purposes such as floral arrangements, but is sold illegally from some meat markets

Thanks for the info! I just wanted to make a cake! If someone is addicted, I have empathy for them...if they are stealing to create and sell, I have a big problem with that. I hope they don't start stealing my chocolate though! :)

What store didn't believe you had bought The ink I wouldn't buy anything else from them. Any time I find something wrong I call the store and tell them I just got home from there and what the problem is. then when i take the said item back. I never have any ? from them.
When I was working in a gro store. I saw a lady open some flavored suryp . she open the top tasted it put the cap back on and did the same thing with a couple other. I went and told her that was against the law for her to do that. she didn't care. So I removed the open bottles and took them to the back of the store.then i told mangment.

I bought a roll of batting at Wal Marts several
years ago and when I opened it there was a
large square cut out of the middle.

They looked at me like I did it.

I hate Wal-mart.

My husband bought some drive or something for his computer. when he got home to install it, he realized that what was in the sealed box was not what was supposed to be in there. the connections didn't even Match. we took it back to Best Buy. they had gotten it from another BB, but replaced it with the correct one. if they had put up a fuss, we would've really complained b/c he spends a lot of money in there.

Actually, it WAS Walmart! I've returned other things and have never had a problem. We called the store immediately, explained the situation and they said to bring it back. We 30 miles away and said we'd be back in the next morning. We took our receipt and there was absolutely NO problem.
