The following will probably amaze and startle you.

One glass of water shuts down midnight hunger pangs for almost 100% of the dieters studied in a University study:

Lack of water is the #1 trigger of daytime fatigue.

Preliminary research indicates that 8-10 glasses of water a day could significantly ease back and joint pain for up to 80% of sufferers.

A mere 2% drop in body water can trigger fuzzy short-term memory, trouble with basic math, and difficulty focusing on the computer screen.

Drinking 5 glasses of water daily decreases the risk of colon cancer by 45%, plus it can slash the risk of breast cancer by 79%, and one is 50% less likely to develop bladder cancer.

Are you drinking the amount of water you should every day?

(No kidding, all of the above are true....)

Of course, too much water may have strange side effects......

She wasn't born with those. I think the dr. who did those should lose his license. I drink a lot of water but at 65 I don't think that's going to happen to me.

The water facts *are* true though...

Rule of thumb = .5 oz per 1 lb of body weight per day. You have a little more room if you eat a lot of veggies and fresh things that already have water "in them". Eat a lot of bread-chips-packaged things? Need more water.

Lacelady 04-01-2011 07:22 AM

I don't disagree, but if I were to drink that much, I would be sloshing my way to the bathroom every twenty minutes.

0tis 04-01-2011 07:23 AM

Oh my....I don't know if I should drink water or not as I am lacking in the "water balloon" area - I think I will stick to diet pepsi - at least I know what I look like at the end of the day.....:)

for some strange reason my back is hurting now!!!!!

HummerGardenCrafts 04-01-2011 08:19 AM

And I thought I had a back problem! I do drink up to 4 or 5 bottles a day of water. Sometimes more.

wolph33 04-01-2011 08:38 AM

lol if I drank too much water it would settle a lot lower

redkimba 04-01-2011 08:40 AM

I know that I drink about a gallon of water per day. Since I had my gall bladder out, I'm almost constantly thirsty & water helps even the bile out a bit.

carhop 04-01-2011 09:05 AM

I drink that much every day . If you drink a lot of soda diet or regular and switch to water you will be suprise how much weight you will loose

Kimkankwilt 04-01-2011 09:09 AM

gunny148 04-01-2011 09:48 AM

OK then,,lets see (scribbling with a pen) gheeze that only 3.5 quarts of water for me...not to bad

franie 04-01-2011 09:54 AM

Hilarious!

SuzanneG 04-01-2011 10:20 AM

Oh, that picture is too funny! :D

But for those worried they'll be up all night running to the bathroom if they drink that much water, no fear. You will for awhile (a week or so at the most), but your body adjusts. Just make sure you have all your water in by 6:00 pm and you'll likely have no problems (after the adjustment period). :-D

I don't drink unless I am thirsty. If I really needed that much water to survive I would be dead by now, because I drink nowhere NEAR 8 glasses a day.

On the other hand, DH had edema in his ankles, his doc told him to drink MORE water and it did work to clear up the edema. He drinks a lot of it.

Tartan 04-01-2011 11:52 AM

That picture is kind of funny. My son once said after seeing something similar, "why don't they just put in inflatables and valve stems."

marthe brault-hunt 04-02-2011 04:30 AM

She certainly is not a quilter, How can she pick up pins on the floor , can she see her work at the sewing machine.

sew4therapy 04-02-2011 04:36 AM

LOL I do agree with you. Always nice to be reminded to drink more water. I tend to forget.

I never heard this- can anyone tell me what that is in metric? I can do the lbs of bodyweight but not the ounces of water (unless that much water weighs an ounce?)

Metric is so much easier. I don't know how you deal with these measurements, people!!!

Rettie V. Grama 04-02-2011 05:40 AM

my senior friends will love this. LOL

Treasureit 04-02-2011 05:43 AM
