These pictures were taken at the ski area about 30 minutes from our house. I found this slide-show on our local TV website.

We got some much needed rain, not enough to affect anything very much but enough to water the lawn and flowers.

it's a little damp

Colbaltjars62 08-30-2010 01:20 PM

Oh nice snow... Sorry folks I love Autumn and Winter. Love to snuggle under a quilt with the window open and listen to the rain. While watching "Munsters go Home" on TV of course.

charmpacksplus 08-30-2010 01:41 PM

Snow in August??? I guess I'm dreaming if I think it will snow here in south Louisiana anytime soon. It's in the 90's here now.

erstan947 08-30-2010 01:41 PM

I hate snow but I hate 90 plus degrees also. I am ready for cool crisp mornings!

JJs 08-30-2010 01:52 PM

I'm ready for the AC to quit running 24/7

magpie 08-30-2010 01:52 PM

I'm with Erstan, would like some cooler weather. Get my wish Sat. and Sun. of course, holiday weekend. But snow in Aug and that much is way too early. Not looking forward to it at all. Have to win lottery and move south, lol!

mom-6 08-30-2010 02:01 PM

Just passed the temperature sign on the bank...100 degrees.

kristen0112 08-30-2010 02:15 PM

WOW! We had rain in the Willamette valley. It smelled so good this morning and sounded wonderful as the drops of rain hit outside my bedroom window. I was hoping for a little longer for summer oh, well.

Colbaltjars62 08-30-2010 02:23 PM

Having to stand out in the 98degree Sun everyday. OK so maybe not EVERYDAY but alot of days. I am more than ready for the cooler weather of Autumn.:-D

Ours was a $141.00 for that same time period? Do you have a heat pump? Our house has 6" exterior walls filled with insulation and storm windows. There is 24" of insulation in the attic and about 6" in the floor.

Chasing Hawk 08-30-2010 02:26 PM

Ok I changed my avatar, what do you think of my cute little teddy bear.

mollymct 08-30-2010 02:33 PM

That bear is creepy!! Looks like the Snuggle bear, which I always thought looked a little evil!

It was nice hear waking up to raindrops hitting the roof and windows. It is suppose to in the 80's towards midweek here. So maybe on the other side of the "hill" it will warm up too.

Did you get a lot of the smoke from the fire up near Hwy 242? Last week we had a bad day, my allergies were killing me, my nasal inhaler was my best friend.

roseOfsharon 08-30-2010 02:48 PM

Ewwwy, I am not thinking snow yet! We had more than our share last winter thank you very much!!

Dragonfly Nana 08-30-2010 02:51 PM

Good Lord, You are getting snow, the southern area is roasting, and we are preping for a possible hurricane this Thursday.
I want to know who messed up the calendar between the west coast and the east coast?

You betcha!!!! I'll send you a PM

Lisanne 08-30-2010 08:13 PM

Thanks, I loved seeing the pictures! I think I'm just a winter person.

It's actually hard for me to believe September is coming this week, since I've been in the land of sunny 70 degree days all summer. I was glad to avoid the real heat, but I've missed weather. When they say it never rains in southern California, they aren't kidding. I'd give a lot for a good thunderstorm, or even just a real downpour. And you have snowwwww...

magpiefeather 08-31-2010 12:05 AM

It has been COLD here in CB, MT. I froze last night and don't have the pilot lite on so more and more blankets and socks was all I could do!

NOT READY FOR SNOW. I know it's coming any way.

GladGrams 08-31-2010 09:41 AM

My husband told me that we Norwegians in the southern part, around Jutenheim, got a surprise too! Just like you. There were cars still with summer tires strewn all over the road and people needing to be rescued.

Colbaltjars62 08-31-2010 09:49 AM

Wow, hope everyone was alright.

Otterhound 08-31-2010 01:58 PM

You must be near Mt Bachelor in central Oregon. We had rain in SW Washington state. Not really ready for winter, but the grass will green up.

kathome 08-31-2010 08:20 PM

I'm in West Texas and the temp was LOW TODAY.... only 98 degrees.

Ginga 09-01-2010 10:22 AM

No way! Not ready for that!

kd124 09-03-2010 11:33 PM
