A pic of my DD's backyard turkeys. They love to feast on the seeds that fall from the bird feeder. It's fun to see them perch on the fence.

I love to see wild turkeys. We have quite a few of them around here but I have never seen them in my yard.

My sister has several that roust in her trees in the fall......until turkey hunting season. For some reason they low about then. Your bird feeder must be like an all you can eat buffet to them.:D

They are funny birds to watch. Once, in the summer, I was sitting on our back deck with a friend, and a hen came through followed by several chicks - they picked and pecked their way across the yard, finally stopping in the longer grass just past our back yard.
Thank you for posting,

Apparently wild turkeys are spreading all over the USA. We live in a small development, and I have seen them "strolling" through the yards here. My sister lives in the country where they see many.

Its good they can come there and eat, probably hard to find food with all that snow on the ground. I love to watch wild life.

We live in the country and have wild turkeys stroll through here -- late one afternoon one was chased by a coyote -- the turkey spent the night on top of a wooden fence post, the coyote circled and jumped most of the night but couldn't get to the turkey. Poor thing finally got off the fence post and got away.

I sure love the wild turkeys. My last house we had about 15 or 16 depending on day/season .. in the winter they would come up the 8 steps in front and get the seed I put on the deck as I couldn't get down to the bottom to feed them .. the front door open, 17 degrees, the cats staring at them through the screen like OMG and the turkeys loved it. My hubby would call for them they would answer.. I loved my turkeys. thanks for the memory. (by the way those tame turkeys will kick your tail if you get between the mating male and female.. oh no don't do that lol.
