The only easy way to lose weight is to eat whatever you like as long as you don't swallow it.

For the newbies to this thread. I started at 209 lb 10 months ago as of this morning I am 180 lb. I count calories, I have done with the help of all the wonderful people on this thread. We have become family through no family I ever knew. We encourage each other to go on when we want to give up. This is a warm loving group, I am proud to call them my friends.

Today I treated myself to a facial. It was my own mixed up stuff of yogut, raspberry jam(I wanted fruit in it) oatmeal and molasses. I left it on for 10 minutes rinsed splashed my face with apple cider vinegar and water. let it drip dry to hydrate (SP?) my skin when it dried I mixed olive oil and vit e and massaged a few drops in with warm water. The wrinkles don't seem as bad and my face fells like a baby butt.

the biggest loser for Nov with a weigh loss of 11.2 lb is bronald................congrats you did a great job.

Bonnie is in Canada if anyone will have a problem sending to her please let me know as I will try and work something out. I will have to wait for DS to come homes for mine to be sent so maybe we could send the FQ along with postage to 1 person and they could send it all to her. What do you guys think?

I faced the devil scale this morning grrrrr, Now I must face the facts and do it again. When I was about to turn fourty I kinda had a midlife crises. Well if you call loosing 70 pounds in 6 months and buying a harley a mid life crises lol(and no I am not a man) Ha Ha. anyway I did keep that weight off for a few years but now in the last 4-5 have gained it all back boooooo. I will not loose the weight like I did the last time .I want to do it right and for WAAAAYYYYY diffrent reasons if you know what I mean lol. No buying harleys this time lol, I just want to be healthy, I am 47.5 years old and would love to look 45 when I turn 50 seing how I look 50's now lol. So here is to taking better care of myself starting today!
I even had a go with the new early christmas kinect game and meditated for 20 min. I rarin' to go as they say....

Oh, And I tend to get carried away and talk too much .I know this ,and know it can be annoying so If I get on someones nerves to the point it is distracting just politely PM me and I will try to chill.lol

I guess you didn't read the rules. It states we get off topic A LOT and if anyone had a problem with that they shouldn't join. Novembers thread had 75 pages you don't really think it was all about weight loss do you? You are in the right place we ramble on and on and Missy well Missy has to at times shoved a sock in her mouth to keep quiet and even with that she will babble along. LOL!

You know I love you Missy where ever you are. You are now missing for 2 days if you don't check in soon I will call. I have a feeling you haven't been able to pull yorself away from the guys working in your kitchen. We know how butt cracks are a turn on for you.

purplemem 12-01-2010 03:13 PM

12-1-10 284.0 Like Rae, I have to write it down where I can find it! LOL! Right now, I'm fighting the flu, so not feeling too whippy.

My top weight this year was 302 on August 26. I tried to go to TOPS but I stay so sick I kept missing the meetings. This works better for me. And I've missed ya'll.

Just for today: I will stay on my program.

trupeach1 12-01-2010 04:47 PM

Not many people joined this month however I bet come Jan we will have loads of people joining. Everyone starts a diet for the new year.

Edited to say... excellent idea!

trupeach1 12-01-2010 06:51 PM

OK since I can not get to the post office who would like to do it? The FQ would be sent to you and they would have to arrive by the middle of dec then you mail them. If a person misses the dead line they then will have to send the FQ themself.

Momofthree 12-01-2010 08:08 PM

I am so in!!!! I am just starting with building my stash so this is a great incentive for me to get the prize!

I have to say you guys on this board are awesome! I went to a message board (not quilt related) that I used to read a lot, after a few threads I remembered why I don't read there anymore and spend my time here. They say hurtful things to each other and complain. Everyone here is full of encouragement and support. This is the place to be!!!

AngieS 12-01-2010 08:13 PM

I want and need to do this! I am hoping to get DH to exercise w/me too! We have an entire weight room down stairs and we need to be using it! It's a large room and if its not going to be used I want it cleared out for a sewing room! Need to exercise though. I have water in the back of the van!! I need to drink it!

AngieS 12-01-2010 08:14 PM

Momofthree, there are boards like that. I have been on them before. I love this place here!

Momofthree 12-01-2010 08:17 PM

I am so glad I found this place, but I spend too much time on here instead of at my machine sewing. I am sure that none of you have that problem ;) .

quilthappygail 12-01-2010 09:24 PM

I wish I could find the time to spend here but to many other thing get in the way(not just quilting)so Idon't get to input to often a I would like to.
Welcome to all new new people. We have a lot of fun and if we get to far of track we will soon return to weight loss subject.
Keep smiling and have fun
Gail

DONK 12-02-2010 04:21 AM

Count me in again. Apparantly I like giving away fabric too. Gained 3 pounds last month. I don't see this month being any better with all the baking I have to do but i'll try.

Gwyn 12-02-2010 05:43 AM

Okay, it is December and I am not going to lose this month. I'm not even going to try to lose this month. I'm going to eat well, sleep well, walk every day, enjoy my family, and see if living right will help me get my focus on the right track.

Since 2011 will be my year, I am also going to make a center for a weight loss/get healthy quilt. I haven't finished designing it yet, but something in each block will account for each pound lost. The center of each block will represent the new habit/life change for the month. January's block will have a mirror in it because the focus will be "Me First" when it comes to my health. January will be all about getting those annual check-up things I really hate out of the way.

February will be something about improving heart health.
March will be "March into that kitchen and take control." get rid of junk.
April might be "Get outside every day."
May:

If you have ideas, let me know. I'll post pictures of my blocks as I go.

ljs317 12-02-2010 06:28 AM

Well if I ever needed more motivation I got it this morning. When I was getting ready for work this morning i realized that I had left my pants hanging in the laundry room so I ran down the hall to get them. I saw my shadow on the hall wall and It looked like I was wearing four swim rings around my self. OMG!!!!!!!!!!! This even after I have lost 15 pounds the past two months! So from now on I will leave the light off in the hall so my shadow never scares me that bad, that is until I take off at least three of those ugly swim rings I have. I am really motivate to lose that 75 lbs goal (or more) I have.

Tru I'm glad you are helping us all again this month. With out you our fearless leader it wouldn't be the same. I do miss your stories at the SS page.

Missy Come out Come put where ever your are. We miss you!

ejudy 12-02-2010 06:57 AM

I'm running late this month - probably from eating so much - but I'm in again for Dec. With the holiday parties and snacks everywhere, it's probably just me wanting to give away another FQ. But what the heck, I enjoy this board!

cjomomma 12-02-2010 07:21 AM

Gwyn you can make May a month of renewing as the trees and grass start to turn green and the flowers are blooming giving that sign that nature is reviving once again. Kind of like your new quilt that you were so deserving of.

bronald 12-02-2010 07:30 AM

Good Morning! I just finished my workout. It's 7:30am and I'm going to have my breakfast apple pie oats, almond milk and a tsp. of maple syrup. Yum. I'm hoping to get a lot done on my Christmas quilts today. That is if one of my darling children don't call and ask me to watch any of my wee grandbabies today. I love them dearly and love to have them but I need to get something done.

thelondonzoo 12-02-2010 07:34 AM

I'm going to do GREAT this month! I weighed myself this morning (down .5 lbs from last week and I wasn't even trying) and I made today's goal: Be in control of myself ALL day. I can do this!

raedar63 12-02-2010 08:04 AM

Hey,
Just checking in for my daily dose of cheerful motivation while I eat my oats, I forgot how much I liked whole oats with a dash or two of salt and honey for sweetining. Sure is more healthy than the mixture of coffee, diet pepsi and candy and /or cookies as is my usual . I don't really know how to go about this, even though I am in health care. I did the low carb thing for so long, while I lost weight and felt fantastic,I know now with the 70 lb weight gain it is not do-able for me in the way I was going about it those few years.
I think for this month I will just try to avoid binging (which I do so well at) and just try to get some more activity and make better choices like the last two am's with the oats.
Brightest blessings to all,
Rae

ljs317 12-02-2010 08:22 AM

Good job Rae!

Is it too late? Only by a few hours.......

December is such a challenge for me -- dinners out, parties, pot lucks, Christmas dinner (2 of them!), etc.. so this will give me some motivation to rein it in a bit. I usually go on a "sea food" diet in December --- I see food, I eat it! :P Everything looks and tastes sooooooo good!!
