And I'm still wearing a coat everyday!! :( We haven't even had much of a spring yet!!

cjomomma 06-21-2010 04:50 AM

My plans are to stay inside as much as possible. The heat, humidity and I don't get along very well.

Me too!!!!!!! I love winter!!!!

momymom 06-21-2010 05:03 AM

It's hot in NC. Has been for the last 2 weeks. Will be untill the end of Sept. I'll be driving all summer. Both DD's have jobs and don't drive yet. We're working on that one. I'm working on my stash reduction this summer. Just making tops to quilt when the weather cools off. So far I've finished 2 tops, layed out the third, and am peicing a fourth.I've already picked out a pattern to use up the scraps from the 4th. I have several others in the planning stages in my mind. Provided I don't loose my mind in the heat. Already had record breaking heat.

raptureready 06-21-2010 05:08 AM

Summer plans are to stay cool, take dd to swim lessons 2x a week, sew and I'm going to go to a quilting retreat at Threads of Time in Danville Illinois in July. Any one want to join me???? It's only $35 a night and you bring your own food/drink, sewing projects, machine and supplies. Threads and Beds(where I'll be sleeping and sewing) is just right through the door from Threads of Time fabric store where I'll be shopping. It's air conditioned, roomy, well lit and lots of fun. Anyone turning green yet?????? LOL
It's an open retreat, anyone can sign up until all the rooms are full.

cjomomma 06-21-2010 05:15 AM

I'm thinking Charlee needs some company for the summer.

sharon b 06-21-2010 05:19 AM

Not a lot of plans...

Need to look for a job , catch up on some sewing & quilting , relax and enjoy

It is raining here in central Indiana. The thunder and lightning woke me up a little after 5 when I had to go let the dog in...he is terrified of thunder. Now, at 10am it is very, very dark outside and pouring. In fact, our county and several others are in a flood warning. It has been a very wet month here.

My plans for the summer...I have been trying to finish up some quilting projects that are stacked up. I really need to get them out of the way before I begin much else. I have a couple little 4Hers that I am helping with their projects (which are very simple but the teacher in me wants them to be sure they are learning to do things the correct way). I also will do some planning and organizing in my Kdg classroom after the cleaning crew is finished in our bld. I am so afraid of not getting my asst this fall (due to declining numbers and budget cuts, it is a very real possiblity), that I want everything as ready to go and manageable as possible.

Of course, if I don't quit sleeping till 9 every morning and then playing on my computer till noon, I will not get anything done this summer. :(

raptureready 06-21-2010 06:54 AM

I'm now going to celebrate the first day of summer with sisters 1 and 2. Sister #2 is only here for the day on her way back to Michigan. Got lots to catch up on.

It's summer hot here also. Maybe I will take small trips all over.

thismomquilts 06-21-2010 08:11 AM

It is very hot here. Our plans are a trip to Haiti and one to IN - well, that is for Sept, but we're looking forward to it... otherwise lots of sewing/quilting/swimming/etc.

Boston1954 06-21-2010 11:08 AM

My plans are to keep making ice for my sister's pool. It's like jumping into a bathtub.

ann clare 06-21-2010 01:43 PM

Beautiful weather here also.

Got up to 24 degrees C here today. Now for us that's a heatwave!

jljack 06-21-2010 03:25 PM

In Central CA we are having really cool weather for us...mid 80's, and literally no humidity. Very nice!! I'll be going to NC end of July to Mid-August for new grandbaby birth. But in the mountains, where it's not so hot. Other than that, working, hoping it stays cooler than normal, and of course quilting. That's about it.

Forgot to add that it would have been my grandfather's 117 birthday today!

C'mon!! Between me, Amanda's Grandma (Dee), and Chasing Hawk, we ought to be able to find room for everyone!

It's actually 70 here today...but there's a breeze cooling things down!

LovinMySoldier 06-21-2010 03:32 PM

So where do I get some of this sunshine that you all seem to be having? Can you send some my way? It is still cold and wet and dreary here. Today the high is suppose to be 61. Not much for summer. My poor garden is dying for a bit of sunshine

Woodster 06-21-2010 03:35 PM

We're headed to Lake Tahoe for 3 days (plus 1 day there and one day back) in July. Hubby's sis has a time-share house. Middle daughter and her boyfriend will meet us there on their way from Pasadena to NC (to check out the area for a maybe move in the future). I'm sure we'll do some other weekend stuff on occasion, but no set plans.

We've had a very cool/wet Spring and I've loved it - much more than my tomato plants have. It's supposed to warm up now, and probably will stay that way for most of the summer. Yuck. I don't do hot well.

granniebj 06-21-2010 04:04 PM

I got up early and took my grandson home in the middle of a rain storm, which brought back our humidity! Yuk! Trying not to complain because I sure hate winter. Waiting for the sun to go down some, then gonna take the kids out to play. No big plans for this summer but sure wish I did...lol

To me 70 is the perfect temp. I am packing my bags.

littlehud 06-21-2010 08:26 PM

First it was rainy and then the sun came out it was hot!!!!!!!!! And humid. Summer in the Midwest.

Pam B 06-22-2010 08:41 AM

Central IN is flooded today. Our creek is as high as it can get without going over the bridge. The big part of our front yard (we live way back off the road) is a lake right now. Our house is built on a slight hill so we never (in 30 years, anyway) have had any danger of water getting near our house. Our bean field on the other side of our creek is partially underwater, as well. Not a pretty picture right now and the weather is calling for more storms later this afternoon. We have about had it with this weather!

Debra Mc 06-22-2010 06:31 PM

DGSs are going to stay whole month of July with other grandparents & I get them back 2 & 4th weekend. I will miss them terribly but will love the quiet. And sew baby sew.

Judie 06-22-2010 07:35 PM

It is HOT HOT HOT in S.W. Missouri.. I don't like it hot, and I just hate humidity.. So, I'll be in the house as much as possible until we get a cool blast of air coming down from Canada.. I can't wait.. When the cool air finally gets here (sometime in October) I always go out on my back deck and shout "THANK YOU CANADA!!" as loud as I can. I try to do that before everyone in the neighborhood comes home from work. So send that cool air on down please.

craftybear 06-22-2010 07:38 PM

Happy Summer!

Wow, I want to find more time to sew and quilt.

GladGrams 06-23-2010 01:35 AM

Today is St Hans (mid-summer) in Norway! People gather in their communities for picnics and light huge bonfires to celebrate. It is a summer solstice kind of thing.

[quote=What are your plans for the summer?[/quote]
