Bless you and your mom and your family. I love anything by Nora Roberts, Nelson Demille, Clive Cussler, Dan Brown, and Dorthea Venting Frank. Would also recommend Jan Karon's Mitford series.

Stranger in a Strange Land - Robert Heinlen (sp?)

Ishmael - Daniel Quinn

Both made me re-think the way I look at human beings and the world.

The Help, and The winter Garden, and Forgotten Garden. Don't know the authors but all good and you can look a lot of books up just by the title.

I like Janet Evanovich also. James Patterson and David Baldachi. Just read "The Help", it was good too. The OUTLANDER series

M. C. Beaton (Agatha Raisin and Hamish MacBeth series)
Sandra Dallas
Sara Gruen (Water for Elephants)
"Sarah's Key"
Jan Karon
Jill Conner Browne -- really irreverant, laugh out loud

Go to http://www.fantasticfiction.co.uk/ once you find an author you like to find others by him/her, or similar books by other authors. You'll never run out of books to read or listen to.

Price And Prejudice by Jane Austen. There's a reason it's been popular for over 100 years!

I understand completely what you are going through. My grandma had Parkinson's Disease and I used to stay with her. I love to read however my life is a busy one so I like to read books that are easy to put down and pick up again. Here are my favorite authors:

Rosamund Pilcher, James Patterson, Nora Roberts, Susan Wiggs, Diana Gabaldon, Sara Donati, Kristen Hannah, J.A. Jance, David & Aimee Thurlo, Robyn Carr, Sheryl Woods, Sue Henry, Luanne Rice. Some of these are mystery, some are romance, some are historical fiction. Love these authors.
