I'm drinking V8 tomato juice and eating Hershey's mint chocolates. Wonder what my tummy is thinking....

Do you sometimes put strange things together?

bearisgray 12-03-2009 10:33 AM

That's probably not that much odder than drinking chocolate milk with a pizza.

Boston1954 12-03-2009 10:35 AM

When we were kids, my sister and I invented the Peanut Butter and Popcorn sandwich.

bearisgray 12-03-2009 10:40 AM

that would work.

so does peanut butter and dill pickles.

Boston1954 12-03-2009 10:48 AM

I like throwing Fritos in my tomato soup.

Ever put relish on a bologna sandwich?

trupeach 12-03-2009 10:54 AM

I didn't realize there was so many pregnant people here. LOL

fatnsassy 12-03-2009 10:56 AM

Ihate going through the checkout with a diet coke and a candy bar, but I have done it more times than I want to admit.

LovingIzabella 12-03-2009 11:00 AM

Baren*eh*ked_canadian 12-03-2009 11:11 AM

a lot of people around here put mayo on their fries... I don't like mayo, but it's really common around here.
I put cheese whiz on my fries... I know, ew!
I don't think I have any really strange combinations... I guess it's kind of weird that I put chopped green pimento olives in my kraft dinner (kraft mac 'n cheese in the us?)

Oh! I do have weird one! A few years ago, my friend and I came up with a really good combo after *ahem* smoking some funny stuff... Try buttered popcorn and Nacho Cheese Doritos. You put one popcorn on top of a chip and eat them together, wow! It's cheesy crunchy but with soft puffy smoothness at the same time! As rediculous as it sounds, it's really good even when you're not a little loopy.
P.S. Haven't smoked since then, but this combo is still in my favorites!

My mommy would say you are gonna get the 'collywobbles.'

Enjoy!

what's a collywobble?

Maribeth 12-03-2009 11:36 AM

During that special time of the month - I love a brownie sundae and hot salty french fries.
One fry, a spoon of the sundae, one fry, a spoon of the sundae, you get the idea, it has become my treat for being a woman.
The only problem is if my husband is around he keeps eating all the fries.

Nevermind, I looked it up :)

I like putting doritos in a tuna fish sandwich. Very crunchy and good. When I was a kid I liked to dip my french fies in the shake! When I have fish fry I like to dip my fries in the tarter sauce.

I'll have to try that next time, that really does sound tasty.

MadQuilter 12-03-2009 03:27 PM

If I have to eat pancakes (because it is the only thing available and I would otherwise starve) I eat them with tons of Ketchup.

I also had a PMS sandwich that made Pat leave the room:
Liver sausage, Genoa salami, smoked Gouda cheese, boiled egg, bread-and-butter pickle with Miracle Whip on Sourdough.

THAT WAS SO DISGUSTINGLY SATISFYING.

Izy 12-03-2009 03:29 PM

Loretta, I am following you, Garlic mayo in Spain is VERY popular, but usually crusty bread is given to dip, the local name is Ali Oli, and it is sooooo 'moreish', now that is a terrible slang word lol!!

Oh I used to LOVE peanut butter and dill pickle sandwiches! Yum!!!

janRN 12-03-2009 03:36 PM

Cheese (any kind) wrapped around a dill pickle. Or a dill pickle slice on potato chips. And I wonder why my butt is getting wider!!

I thought I had an unusual sandwich of bologna, ketchup, sweet pickles and red onion, on wheat bread.
But I see I am not alone. Hey,whatever one likes it is them eating it I feel.
Some good ideas here though.

Fulton, MS!!!

My last name is Fulton.

littlehud 12-03-2009 06:02 PM

I love french fries and a chocolate shake. Also plain potato chips and ketchup. My favorite sandwich is peanut butter and banana. Yummy.

Boston1954 12-03-2009 06:21 PM

Have you ever had peanut butter and raisins?

When I worked in day care we used to have "ants on a log". When moms picked the kids up they would say, "We had ants for snack ", and you should Have seen the faces. It was peanutbutter spread on celery with raisins on top. I also love to slice a banana and then spread peanutbutter on it. A great sandwich on a poor day... a mustard and mayonaise sandwich. Y-U-M!!!

Scissor Queen 12-04-2009 06:18 PM

Let's see, apples and peanut butter, bell peppers and peanut butter, apples and popcorn, M&Ms and popcorn, Miracle Whip on lettuce rolled up. That's all I can think of right now.

Yummy, I make that with saffron in it.

After tasting ice wine at many, many wineries one summer during a wine tour holiday, I bought an expensive bottle of ice wine. I came home one evening and my DD was curled up on the couch with a glass of ice wine and salt & vinegar potato chips. After nearly killing her, I tried it and must say it works!

deedles215 12-04-2009 06:44 PM

Chocolate covered bacon. YUMMMMM!!!!! Salty, sweet, smokey..

nellebelles 12-04-2009 06:58 PM

I have one that my daughter loves--and she wasn't even pregnant when she "invented" it--peanut butter and tuna fish sandwich. Still her favorite (she first discovered this combination when she was about 10, and she is now 30!) :hunf: I have to admit that I have never been brave enough to try it--and besides that I am allergic to fish and seafood...so now I couldn't if I even wanted to.

marty_mo 12-05-2009 05:02 AM

LOL ~ I like maple syrup on my omelet. We use to serve hot cake sandwiches in a restaurant where I worked in as a teen, pancake with runny fried eggs between the cakes and topped with butter and syrup...mmmm...I still enjoy this occasionally but it totally grosses out DH. LOL

fktsewing 12-07-2009 10:31 AM

I've got one better for you---my husband eats bologna and grape jelly sandwiches. Of course this is coming from a man who loves spam. I think it is gross.

Well, that's not so bad, I've had a bit of maple syrop with my eggs before. I LOVE bacon dipped in maple syrop, that is soooo freakin' good!!!

I agree! We used to have pancakes, bacon and eggs when we were camping. The only time Mom let us eat it as a sandwich, though the syrup made it too messy to pick up!

My daughter likes fries dipped in a chocolate shake - only chocolate.

Peanut butter and lettuce used to be a staple for school lunches at our house. Wouldn't eat it now, though.

lfw045 12-08-2009 05:39 AM

Try Kim-chee, mayo and baloney on a sandwich.....yummy....LOL! Seriously, it is.

lfw045 12-08-2009 05:40 AM

Oh.......Kim-chee is a pickled chinese cabbage.....it's spicy and it stinks......but tastes great...LOL! Side note: When the kids got in trouble we would tell them they were in deep Kim-chee.....LOL! They didn't get in trouble often....
