I have a BS in Anthropology and Sociology. Went to college at age 38 and graduated with high honors while trying to stay sane with 3 teenagers and one younger son. Got the degree, sanity is gone forever !

I went to business school as a young widow with a infant child until I lost my babysitter. I worked 17 years doing the accounting for a business. Had a midlife job switch. I am self-taught on computers. Now I oversee the computer network at a shop, manage 8 employees, keep the copiers running, and do graphic design.

Considering how my adult life started...I am doing fine. I have a lot of customers that are professors and college students. I might not have a lot of book smarts...but I have common sense and am a hard worker. I also willing to learn something new to keep up with progress.

What a wonderful variation of training and backgrounds on this board. And what fun to think that we all have a love of quilting - no matter what the background. As for myself:

BS from KSU in Home Economics Education - 1971
MS from KSU in General Home Economics - 1975
MS from Washburn University in Special Education - 1988

I have taught Home Economics at the middle school, high school, and university level. After being a SAHM, I finished my career as a special education teacher at the high school level and as a consulting teacher in special education. I've been retired for two years and am able to devote more time to my lifelong hobby of sewing!
