Yes but often these guys with the PhD often know less than the people who got an ordinary degree a few years ago.
I am amazed at the people here who have got a first in a Science degree but seem to know very little.

That is the same degree I obtained, although I have supported, at home not in the workplace, my husband while he graduated with a BS in Computer Science, MS in Aeronautical Science and a MS in Strategic Studies all the while working a full time job and at least one part time job. So as you can see someone needed to keep the home fires burning. And I never wanted to be committed somewhere when he was home since he was home so little.

I have a BS in Environmental Management, Minor in Chemistry. I am a Certified Mentor as well. Worked 10 years private sector, 16 years for Department of Army, 7 years for Department of Defense and last 6 years for Department of Veterans Affairs. Looking forward to retiring in 2014. Yeah!

I got my BSN from UT Arlington in 1979. I practiced for 30 years, almost all in Labor and Delivery. Always wanted to become a CNM (Certified Nurse Midwife) but it didn't work out with my life and my husbands career. I'm glad that we focused on his career--I loved my time as an RN but I also love being retired with him still doing the working and supporting my quilting costs, LOL.

I have a BS in Elementary Ed. After teaching for 30+ years, I retired in 1997 and am enjoying the free time to read, do crafts, and quilting. I have a hubby, 3 children and 10 grandchildren to keep me busy also!
