When you read a post, do you start reading everyone's replys or do you scroll straight to the bottom to put your two cents worth in? Me? I scroll!!
I usually read first. Usually someone else has already said what I would say. Great minds work alike.
depends on the topic- sometimes i read what everyone has to say- sometimes i just respond- sometimes i read what everyone says then move on without adding my (2 cents worth).
I scroll and if it is not too long I like to read all the posts!
If the poster is asking for advice or opinions, I will post without reading everyone's post first. If poster is asking a how to question, then I will read posts first to see if what I think is pertinent has already been added. I see no reason to add the same info over and over.
I usually try to read what others have to say about the subject. Most of the time I don't need to put my 2 cents in, because someone has already posted my answer. It helps to read what others say because I learn something myself.
it depends on the topic.
if its an opinion poll, like which border do you like better, i just go to the bottom and voice my opinion. if its an advice post i read the other comments to see if there's anything i would like to add to the discussion. |
I read. I find it most annoying that 14 people will ask the same question that has already been answered because they haven't read the posts. I have almost left the board because of this annoyance. If you don't want to read, don't post.
Scroll the first 2 pages, then if I have anything to say that hasn't been said, I post.
I read to see if someone has replied as I would, & if they have move on to next post.
Depends. If someone is asking for advice i will see if someone else has already offered the suggestion. If they are just showing a new project, I will just go to "Quick Reply" and make a comment without seeing what anyone else has posted.
I dont't bother to click on a topic, if I am not interested in it. It depends on the topic whether I stroll or not.
On pictures section, I just check the picture and do not stroll. Other sections, it depends what it is. |
I like to read what everyone says. Sometimes someone asks a question related to the original post, and no one answers. I wonder if the person who asked the question goes back to look for an answer.
Depends on the topic and depends on the time I have.

I like to read what everybody else wrote, because the quilters here are so much more experienced and wise than I am.
i read the first page and then reply
I do both...........just depends on how much time I have.

I read it all before I post a comment, no matter how long it is. Otherwise it's like butting into a conversation that you haven't been following..can wind up looking pretty silly sometimes doing that.

depends on the amount of time I have. Sometime I just read the first couple of post and then comment sometimes I read through all of them.
Ditto....I read them all most of the time.
Depends, obviously. Some topics are asking for opinions on a design, a machine or notion, etc. So even if I suggest the same border design or machine as someone else, it has value to the OP that more than one person has the same suggestion. I think to say that one shouldn't respond at all unless they've read the entire thread is absurd. Now if I were posing a question, I'd read all the posts first to see if the answer was already given, but if another QB member fails to do that, big deal.

Depends on how many pages there are.....usually I will read through the first couple of pages. After that I will usually skip postings and post my own reply. I guess it just depends on the topic and if it is one I am really totally interested in. If that is the case I will read it all before posting my reply.

Sometimes I read the replies and other times, I just post my reply.
I almost always read the comments- It annoys me too, that people will ask the same questions over and over- and sometimes the answer to the question is in the original post! So they didn't even read that!
If it is a thread I am interested in, I will read through it for tips. If it is picture of a project, I will post the first thought that comes to mind. (sometimes I just want to type smile, if a quilt makes me smile) Everyone always has such nice things to show.
If it is a post asking for an opinion, I can answer without reading everyone else's opinion. If it is a question, like others, I read to see if it was answered. But oftentimes, it is a question I don't feel qualified to answer. I did read all 3 pages of this thread, however, as I was curious about others answers. In the picture forum I just look at the pictures, unless I'm hoping there is more info on the quilt.
Unless it is a picture where I just add my oohs and aahs I try to read all the comments.

I try to read them all.

I try to read everything first. I seldom offer advice, often will give my opinion, sometimes give a suggestion if I am really comfortable with the topic. But I do learn a lot by reading, and sometimes a topic takes a very interesting turn!
I scroll and read the comments.
depend on the post sometimes both depending on my mood
I put in my reply first...then I look at everyone else's. It's fun to see if anyone thinks like me....LOL
