Sorry, but I swear by my 1941 Singer.
|
I have the Pfaff Expressions 4.0 and love it. I have always had Pfaffs since I started quilting. Never wore one out, just passed them on to kids when I wanted more stuff on my machine. Got this one because it has the larger throat. On sale I got it $500 off and I traded in another machine and got Another $500 for it and they threw in the acrylic surround and an extended warranty. So it ended up costing me $1900. I am so happy with it. It is quiet and just purrs for me.

Bernina 430E. I love my machine!

I have a Janome Memory Craft 9500 and several other machines but love to piece quilts on my 1950 Featherweight. I also do FMQ on small projects with my Singer Featherweight. Such a beautiful stitch.

I think you should test some out. Everyone has to feel comfortable with the sewing machine you choose. Good Luck!

I have a Jamone 6600. Although I have a LongArm, I use my Janome to also FMQ

I have a Brother SQ9000, which is a very basic quilting features machine with some decorative stitches thrown in. It's pretty sturdy, and even the cheapest Brothers I have owned ran and ran and ran until I wore them out.
Oh yes,....this one only cost $190 at WalMart on sale.  |
I've just been having the same exercise! Trying to decide which machine to purchase, but knew that the Pfaff IDT was a treasure, so that was my choice UNTIL I tried the Juki TL-98Q... then That was my choice... then hubby thought I should have a more all purpose machine and I graciously accepted his gift of a Juki F300. I'M SO HAPPY!!! Love it, love it, love it....
Still, in my mind the choice must be between the Pfaff and Juki machines.... I really WANTED straight 1/4" seams and now I've got them. I feel so much better now! |
I love my Janome. I would recomened it any time.

I have the pfaff 2.0 and highly recommend it, no problems and will stick with this one for a very long time!
