The apps that I use on a regular basis:
1.) Google Maps 2.) Waze - this tells me about road problems before I get on the road. 3.) Gas Buddy - tells me where the least expensive gas is. So if I am on the road I can find my favorite places. 4.) Choice Hotels - because I love to go on road trips 5.) Joann's - so I forget my coupons or want to add to my coupons they accept the ones on my phone 6.) Quilt Shops - helps to find quilt shops while traveling. 7.) Instagram 8.) Amazon 9.) ESPN Sportscenter 10.) American Express 11.) Paypal 12.) Gmail 13.) AMC - never know when you want to see a movie 14.) Shazam - you need to identify that song on the radio 15.) Grocery List - now my list for various stores are with me all the time 16.) Flashlight - that comes in handy all the time 17.) Starbucks - I don't go very often but it is nice to be able to put the cards on it and not worry about losing them. 18.) I Heart Radio 19.) ESPN Radio 20.) Pandora 21.) Groupon 22.) Minion Rush (my current addiction) 23.) Scrabble 24.) Disney Parks 25.) Mouse Wait Wow - I have a lot more than I realized. |
I've only got a couple because I don't think I'll stay with the Iphone when my contract is up, I think I'll go with samsung.
So I've got the Fitbit app and LunaSolaria. I use the weather app that came on the phone, Have the hometown of everyone I care about programmed in. I love taking a quick check of their weather experience for the day. |
I still have trouble trying to read missed messages and/or deleting them. Guess I'm a confirmed Luddite:)

i definitely use the apps for my bank accounts... i love depositing checks without going to the bank.
i have a game, Dots, to use on the few occasions that i get bored somewhere. and, after 3 years, i have figured out how to use Google maps for my GPS ... a little slow on that! Elise |
I don't even have a cell phone. One of my pet peeves is to see have people in the stores in line talking on a phone while unloading their carts. What can be so important?

How do you deposit checks without going to the bank? That would really be a time saver.
Elise I use my banking app not only for depositing checks but also for checking balances, transferring money between accounts. As far as other apps go I use calendar as my main planner, notes to jot things down and make lists, gmail to check my e-mail, facebook, weather, podcasts because I listen to them when I go for walks, yp (yellow pages) to look up what businesses are in the area (where's the nearest gas station, restaurant etc), mapquest (for directions), find friends (to see where family is), RunKeeper (tracks distance and time for running or walking), ecobee (can program my thermostat when I'm not home), Elevation (gives the altitude which I use when traveling in the mountains just for fun), JoAnn's (but I've found their app coupons aren't as good as the paper ones any more - very few 40% off), utilities app that comes with the iPhone (for calculator and alarm clock). I'm sure there's others that I'm not thinking of. Occasionally I even use my phone to make or receive a phone call! |
I love to go to the movies so I use Flixster and RunPee all the time. I like Google Maps and Waze, especially when I travel. But my absolute favorite that I could not live without is called Key Ring Reward Cards by Mobestream Media. It is an app for all those reward cards that you have for all those stores you shop at. I have put my library card on it, my YWCA card, even copies of my insurance cards. I love not having to keep up with all those cards anymore. Then there is the Robert Kaufman quilting calculator app, Shazam, and ShopSavy.

I'm curious about what security measures any of you use for your cell phones.
